Are You Coming or Not?

Hey, jonnorthwood ~ Don't sweat it, and DON'T feel guilty! You are in great company. There is an old story where a wealthy father called all of his best friends and family to the wedding of his most precious child, his only daughter. No one showed up. He sent his most trusted butler to go find everybody and they all had lame excuses so... when the father learned this, he invited GRATEFUL people off the street and in the hotels to come to his daughter's wedding feast!

Guess what? There are interesting, fun and faithful friends right around you waiting to be discovered!!!!! Some are those you LEAST expect! : D

Blessings and Peace

Hey, brit on a trip, what is Wensleydale? Are you able to give the flavor a description? With fruitcake, huh?! My hubby makes my gram's killer fruitcake ~ what a great go-together. I like REAL, melted extra sharp cheddar on my apple pie. Much, much better than vanilla icecream! : D

Purple Reign

I love eggplant! It is a dieter's dream and it's negatives are minor and it has tofu (yuck!!!) beat all over with a stick! My favorite is eggplant parmaggiano (sp?) Even as little children, my kids liked it because eggplant adds no taste to the dish. I love fried eggplant, too... is that a Southern thing? Did you know that it is almost all fiber and has less than 100 calories for a whole medium plant?!

Are You Coming or Not?

I may be a Johnny-come-lately (no pun intended) but in this world of very busy schedules how can an invitee NOT RSVP?!?!?!?!?

As a hostess, I am too busy to chase those with "something better to do" and as an invitee, I am too busy to worry whether or not I can "fit in" an invitation. Almost all of us own a paper calendar, have a computer calendar or cell phone date book. Use it! (I know I am preaching to the choir, here.) If you don't respond, you have just said "no". If you do say "no" then don't show up. If you say "yes" then call if you cannot come (even if the reason is that you and SO just had a knock-down-drag-out).

I had the same experience with my daughters wedding that a couple of others have mentioned; and these were FAMILY MEMBERS!!!!

To anyone out there in doubt... respond to invitations, it won't cost you a thing. Not doing so just may cost you a friendship!

Pollo alla Valdostana (Chicken with Prosciutto and Fontina Cheese)

I love a.capo's zinger! I live near Valdosta, Ga and have been to the name sake area in Italy!

I can imagine the flavors in my head. I think the objection to the photo is that the dish looks like mushed tamale's and not a delicious chicken dish. Remember, presentation is almost everything! A more colorful presentation and one less breast on the plate would make this recipe photo a beautiful representation of a tasty dish.

Just a note... deboning your own chicken is EASY!!!! so don't sacrifice flavor. Also, bone-in chicken is a whole lot cheaper than boneless. : D
