Do you hide your stash from company?
I don't hide anything in my pantry: when I lived alone, it wasn't an issue, and now that my roommates have had their wicked way with all of my ingredients and accoutrements, I'm too burned out to worry about it. I finally gave up when I realized my entire stash of saffron threads had been pilfered because one of them wanted to try their hand at making saffron rice to go with the barbequed pork and black beans she was making. *laugh* There's nothing for the guests to find, anymore.
As to alcohol, the only people who visit--and who like wine--are the ones I'd be willing to share my cellar with.

If you're staying downtown, I can highly recommend the Heathman Restaurant. I have always received exquisite service, and the food has never been less than incredible.
