Keyport Fishery serves some excellent fried clams. I've been eating them there for years and have never been disappointed. Their homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw are spot on as well.

I haven't been able to find a halfway decent Cuban sandwhich place that can even compare to the south Florida variety. Does anyone know of any places in Monmouth county that serve up authentic sandwiches? Any help is much appreciated.

Found a great little lunch truck right on the water in Union Beach. They specialize in fat sandwiches (aptly named "beach bombers")and other grilled items. I've eaten there a few times and everything is always fresh and the quality of the ingredients were spot on. I'm working on trying each of the sandwiches they offer, but so far the Jersey Girl and Tsunamis were delicious. Service was great...Tony is a friendly guy who seems to know many of the regulars by name. I would recommend taking going on a sunny day so you can combine the great sandwiches with an amazing view of the Raritan Bay and NYC across the water. The park is right near Jakeabobs restaurant.
