Dinner and lunch recommendation in downtown detroit?

Thanks so much to everyone for the suggestions. I head to Detroit next week. (By the way, Diallo is a common last name in West Africa and was my last name when I was a peace corps volunteer there.)

Dinner and lunch recommendation in downtown detroit?

My first trip to Detroit. Only time for 1 dinner and 1 lunch. Both need to be downtown, close to either US court house at W. Lafayette Blvd. and Washington Blvd., or the Hilton at Gratiot Ave. and Brush St. Looking for good, casual food, not too expensive. Thanks!

Where to eat near courthouse on 7th and mission?

Chowhound from D.C. coming to San Francisco. Any suggestions for yummy places to eat dinner near the ninth circuit courthouse on 7th and mission? Not too expensive please (government per diem). Thanks!

Recommendations for Penn Quarter -- dessert or cheese plate?

I'm looking for a good spot to go to after a theater show at the Wooly Mammoth in Penn Quarter for either dessert or a cheese plate. Any suggestions?

Good margaritas in Springfield, VA?

Taqueria Poblano in the Del Ray neighborhood in Alexandria has great fresh maragaritas (and good food too). They have a small outdoor patio. We've had a couple of fun dinners and drinks there.

Where to eat close to New Jersey Ave and E St NW?

Any recommendations for where to eat lunch that is close to New Jersey Ave NW and E St NW in D.C.? Preferably not too expensive and need not be fancy. I love Taqueria Nationale, but there's no predictable seating. Thanks!

Where to eat close to New Jersey Ave and E St. NW in D.C.?

Any recommendations for a good place to eat lunch close to New Jersey Ave NW and E St NW in D.C.? Preferably not too expensive and need not be too fancy. I love Taqueria Nationale, but there isn't reliable seating (and I'm meeting an older friend, so sitting in the grass nearby isn't an option).

Where to buy Maraschino liqueur?

Anyone have any suggestions on where I could buy Maraschino liqueur? I need it to make some Aviator cocktails. I've looked in ABC stores in Virginia, where I live, but haven't had any luck. Any suggestions on where I could find this in D.C.?

Good authentic Chinese in Alexandria/Arlington?

Anyone have any suggestions for good Chinese in Alexandria or Arlington? We're new to the area from the west coast where we had a couple of great chinese restaurants. I'm craving some good potstickers and hand-shaved noodles. Thanks!

Bread Bakery in Alexandria or Arlington?

I'm new to the area and would love to find a good bakery that sells hearty bread with a good crust. If anyone's had the walnut levain bread from Acme bakery in Berkeley, that's the style I'm looking for. Any suggestions?

Looking for authentic Senegalese food

I'm visiting NYC this weekend, staying in Harlem. I'd love to find some authentic Senegalese food. I lived in Senegal for 2 years and loved the food, but have only found mediocre Senegalese food here in the US (usually not enough oil or spices). I'd love a good mafe, diebujene (sp? fish and rice dish), or yassa. Thanks for any suggestions!

Recommendations near 14th and Q?

Diallo here: thanks for the suggestions. I guess everyone has a different definition of "hip". For me, I'd like someplace kind of arty and alternative. I haven't lived here long enough to know, but it sounds like the "DC uniform" probably doesn't fit that description, but Busboys and Poets might. We are planning to see a jazz show at HR57 and were hoping to find somewhere to eat and have some drinks within walking distance. I'll check out the suggestions offered -- much appreciated!

Recommendations near 14th and Q?

We recently moved here from the Bay Area. We hired a babysitter and are looking forward to a night out without the screaming little one. We'd love a recommendation for a restaurant that's a kind of swanky and hip with a bar/lounge to have some drinks before dinner and with good fresh food (I'm a bit of a fresh food snob from growing up in the Bay Area). Any recommendations? Thanks!
