Baltimore restaurants with fireplaces?
Hull St Blues has a fire in the Commodore room. Their $12 Tuesdays are a great deal too. Here was last week's choices:
Crab Cake with 3-mustard aioli. Petit Filet with horseradish cream. Rigatoni tossed with sausage and marinara. Seared Sea Scallops with linguine and pesto. Veal Saltimbocca - procuitto, provolone and sage. Linguine with white clam sauce. Seared Ahi Tuna with avocado lime salsa. Grilled Pork Loin with Napa cabbage pecan slaw and red chili lime aioli. Rigatoni A La Vodka with grilled chicken. Seared Day Boat Codfish with risotto and wild mushrooms (royal trumpet, oyster and crimini.)
Polock Johnny's closing at Lexington Market
Really sad. That was my go-to, fall back option for lunch. It also doesn't comment well on the future of the market. Holding up the superblock on the westside might be the death knell.
Made in the Baltimore Region
Natty Boh beer is no longer made in Maryland, though the Baltimore region comprises the majority of the market. Its brewed in North Carolina now.
If you want a beer, all the Clipper City brews are really good. So is Resurrection from Brewers Art.
I'd add Taharka Bros ice cream to the list.
What should I have for lunch today?
Simple question. I'm in downtown Baltimore and have about an hour.

Fells Point with teenagers
This shows just how much Fells Point has changed in the last ten years or so. Ten years ago, I would have envisioned this post reading "2 teens looking to dump the old-foggie at a place with good steaks, seafood and apps".
"Great atmosphere" is not very specific. What do you mean? I like Duda's, atmosphere is great in a comfortable, friendly, local bar type of way. Good seafood, light on the steaks.
New Sichuan place on Washington Blvd. between W&L and Kirkwood
Admit it hon, you thought this was a new place in Pigtown. So did I.
Restaurants & Bars Featured in HBO's The Wire
Not that it matters for the purpose of the original post, but the place was called Victor's Cafe. Long gone now.

Here's the interior shot of the Harbor Way Inn. Its still there, but there is no sign. On Pratt just east of the MLK.

Pretty sure Daniels and Pearlman initially hook up at that old place on the harbor where the new Marriott is now. I can picture it, but can't pull the name. Used to have a decent brunch with a great view. Who's got the stink of wisdom on them?

Ooops, absolutely correct. Clement and Jackson.

McNulty's drinking again ... at the Harbor Way Inn on Pratt street is where he picks up some floozies. Beleive me, they found the actress in a casting call, not the real Harbor Way Inn.
Also the bar used in Season 2 was in real life and the show called the Clement Street Cafe. It was on the corner of Clement and Covington. Its gone now. But "why don't you go work a bar stool down Clement St" is still one of my favorite lines of the show.

Pretty sure McNulty got his kids to do the front and follow in the Northeast Market:

Seeking recs - cinnamon buns in Baltimore
Here's some previous rec's on the topic. I'd be interested in some updates as well.

By the way, I think Blue Moon is now open 24 hours, so that could work with your schedule.
Duda's in Fells Point
Oops, sorry, I meant Memorial day Weekend. We usually go Saturday afternoon.
Does anyone know what happened to Pazza Luna
Rumors are that the owners of the building and Christa/Davide have reached some sort of agreement. Look for a Christa/Davide run Pazza Luna to be opening up again soon.
Then again, if you believe every rumor that comes out of Locust Point, the number 1 bus line would have been cancelled years ago.

Maryland Crab Puffs/Fluffs
I believe the new Sterlings stand in Lexington Market offers a crab fluff. I am not positive because for less than $2, I can't get beyond their fish cakes.

suggestions for Bel Air, Havre le Grace MD?
Price's is the go to crab house for steamed crabs in HdG. I've never eaten in the restaurant, but have had the crabs at many summer get togethers. Always good. If you go, be sure to comment back here on the rest of the offerings. I'd be curious to know.
sandwiches in baltimore
Mastellone's is on Harford Rd inside the city line. I went for a sandwich there once and was told "Would you mind waiting 5 minutes, the bread is coming out of the oven". Now THAT"S a sandwich place!

Ham, egg and cheese sandwich with LTM at Steve's Lunch in Cross St Market.
restaurants near hippodrome in Baltimore
Definitely give Alewife a try. I've been there twice, once for just beer and then last night for beer and a burger. The smoked burger was excellent.
Its directly across the street and they open at 4.
Here's their menu: http://alewifebaltimore.com/menu.php
Give it a shot and please tell us what you think.
Best Fried Chicken/Collard Greens Lexington Market
For fried chicken, I like Park's in Lexington Market. There are two Park's stands, I prefer the one next to Konstants.
As for greens, I haven't notice much of a difference between any of the locations. I usually get them with the "roast beef" dinner at the Healthy Foods stall ("roast beef" in quotes because it's closer to a pot roast to be sure. I guess for that matter "Healthy" should be in quotes too).

Hot dogs in Bmore
I love Pollack Johnnies, but for a nice Polish, not necessarily a hot dog.
Tourettes, how can you forget Konstant's in the Lexington Market. Hot dogs and coffee, the breakfast of champions on the westside. The Konstant's all beef with everything (chili, onion and mustard) is the standard barer for the grab and go hot dog in the city.

Trip to Baltimore Need Some Restaurant Advice
Gotta admit I'm scratching my head at alot of these recommendations for 20-somethings looking for "fun" places.
For fun, I'd decide on the neighborhood first. If Canton is your place, I'd take Hon's Mama's on the Half Shell, or the neighboring Nacho Mama's as good combos of food and fun.
If you go to Fells Point, I'd either hit up the El Taquito (BYOB) on Eastern for real mexican or Duda's on Thames for crab cakes and shrimp and then bar hop.
Brewers Art is a good recommendation in Mt Vernon as is Rocket to Venus in Hampden if you consider (or want to consider) yourself as part of the hipster crowd.
Hope that helps.

Rallos on Fort. Whats the scoop on this place?
Definitely been. Your assessment is correct. Its a "regular crowd type diner". Solid food, nothing out of the ordinary fantastic. Good place to go when you've had one to many the night before and really crave that diner menu. Its one of those places that you sense made their bones serving the dock trade with good hardy fare and now are struggling to keep up with the new environment in south Baltimore.
If your options for Fort Ave diners are Rallos or the Garden Restaurant, I'd choose Rallos every time.

Duda's in Fells Point
Hard to believe 4 years have gone past already. A few things haven't changed. My brother is back in Afghanistan and I'll be back at Duda's this weekend for my first softshell of the season.
3 Nights in Baltimore
I love the charcuterie at Cinghale. Sit at the bar, drink wine and eat meats and cheeses. Fantastico.
3 Nights in Baltimore
I hope your friend finished that sentence by saying that they suggested Chiparelli's or Sabatino's as two place you might want to avoid.
Really both place are fine for what they are: red sauce Italian places built on nostalgia. Really the best review of either place I've heard starts with, "my dad used to wake us up as kids late at night and we'd drive to Sabatinos." Don't go to either expecting culinary greatness.
As for other recommendations, do you have a car? Or are you accustomed to urban travel via foot and/or cab?
I couldn't tell by your request if you are looking for Italian place or wanted non-Italian recommendations.
Baltimore places with the best crabcake sauce
I always thought Natty Boh was the best sauce for a crab cake. Who's with me?
