Good Eats of Philadelphia Rd/Rte. 7?

A friend is staying at La Quinta off Philadelphia Rd. for a training session, and I promised to meet up and find us a good place to eat. Not sure what I was thinking, as I don't know that area at all. Any ideas?

Mountain View Diner?

Just went to the Cozy a few weeks ago, and I have to say we were severely disappointed. It has gone way down hill from when I was a child and there were lines out the door. Even the kids were very disappointed in the buffet -- they'd just been to Mountain Gate the night before. The food was rather greasy and disgusting, lower quality meats, and we all had trouble finding enough to eat that we could stand.

Crabs outside of Annapolis

Thanks to everyone who replied. We ended up at Kauffman's, and I have to say it was a big mistake. The "service" was grumpy and frequently non-existant, and nothing about the food was the slightest bit impressive. Admittedly, we went on the cheap and had the all you can eat crabs (had to knuckle under to the out of town guests), but even the corn and bread were unimpressive. I may have missed out on their high points, but I doubt I'll ever give them a second chance.

Annapolis with kids

So glad someone mentioned Paul's. I still haven't had the chance to try it, but have been hearing about it from locals for years.

Baltimore/DC must have

I agree that if you're coming to Maryland, then you have to try steamed crabs. It is hands down our signature local delicacy. If you're afraid to pick the crabs yourself (we recommend lots of beer to get you over that), then you at least have to have crabcakes.

Crabs outside of Annapolis

Ever since I moved to Annapolis, I've been trying to find the best place for crabs. Everybody always told me "Buddy's" which I think is just crap.

Now I'm looking more in the Millersville/Odenton/Severna Park area. I know Cantlers and Magothy Bridge Seafood House are both great, but a bit far. And is Mike's still open? I'd heard Ray's and Joe's in SP are great for take-out and have had good luck with Joe's.

Other opinions?

Sorry if there's a duplicate post on Mid-Atlantic. Used the wrong board and couldn't figure out how to move it.

Bars outside of Annapolis?

I've been trying for years to find decent bars in the Crofton/Odenton/Millersville area that don't involve going into Annapolis. I'm particularly looking for happy hour specials with not too much of a "salt of the earth" crowd. Any suggestions?
