Best sushi Queen Anne neighborhood

Sadly Ototo is closed. We like the sushi at Chinoise, although a bit more americanized with rolls, and a pan asian menu, it is very fresh and good quality and they are so great with kids.

Att: Sturmi - Vienna Business dinner for 10 -12

Thank you - these are great choices as are the original hotel restaurants.

We are in town for a medical conference, and it takes place on the weekend, so doctors don't have to give up office hours! Thank you for your help. I appreciate your time greatly!

Att: Sturmi - Vienna Business dinner for 10 -12

I have been reviewing the restaurants to make our reservations, and am finding they are closed on Saturdays. Is this really true? I expected some to be closed on Sundays, but was surprised they are closed on Saturdays. Is this true for the whole city? Seasonal? Can you recommend one that is open on Saturdays? Sunday? We are there 28 Sept to 2 Oct.

Att: Sturmi - Vienna Business dinner for 10 -12

This is very helpful, especially the info about our party size. We will see if we can find a fixed menu at Steiereck that works, and Vestibul will be a definite. The new suggestions are great as well. I will let you know what we have decided. Thank you for the fast and highly informative reply - I really appreciate all the insightful details!

Att: Sturmi - Vienna Business dinner for 10 -12

Hello Sturmi,
I am coming to Vienna for a conference and need to entertain 10-12 people for a social/business dinner. We need 3 or 4 options for the nights we are there.

Have been reading the threads and most folks are on vacation, so wanted to get more specific with you.

Looking at:
Walter Bauer, Vestibül, Mraz & Sohn, Novelli, Rudi’s Beisl and of course Steirereck, but that may be cost prohibitive.Concierge recommended Plachutta, Griechen Beisel, Fabio and Weibels (I have deleted Fabio and Plachutta based on your comments).

Anything overlooked? Anything inappropirate for a group?

Thanks in advance!

Top Chef in Seattle next season?

No clue of anything official, but the Padma, Tom, Gail sightings abound, plus sprinting chefs spotted at Whold Foods. Presumed true by most.

Any sightings of the elusive local WA strawberries out there?

saw folks strolling in Ballard w/ some GORGEOUS ones from the farmer's market. Sadly, i bumbed into them at 3:00 and market was closed. Went straight to Met Market QA and picked up some that were pretty good, but weren't as juicy as those spotted in ballard.

"Fancy" Chinese Restaurant in Seattle?

What about Bako, where Jade Pagoda was? Haven't tried yet, but sounds like it will please both of you. Also, Long Provincial (Vietnamese not Chinese) is upscale but good with kids and delicious.

Ravioli?

There is Ravioli Station in Free-Lard (Leary way btwn Ballard and Freemont)

Causual, rustic, nothing special kinda place, but if you seek ravioli, they are pretty good.

Group Dining in Sydney

Thanks for thIs. At Customs House, assume you mean Cafe Sydney, top floor? That looks perfect- bit os Sydney culture with nice view. I assume the food is good or you would not have mentioned here.

We have two smaller dinners, so Spice temple may work for that. Any other recommendations in the Rocks? There is so much there, hard to navigate what's good and can handle a large group.

Many thanks!

Group Dining in Sydney

Coming for a meeting in October, and need a place for about 30 people. The meeting planners tend to select touristy places that have a nice view (often rotating) but bad food. Any suggestions for somewhere nice that has great food? We are staying at the intercontinental, but can arrange transportation for a short journey. We are coming from the states, but our guests will be from all around Australia.
Havent been to Syndey in 10+ years, so looking forward to it! Many thanks in advance!

Dinner and Dancing for 50th Anniversary

I am trying to plan a 50th Anniversary evening for my in-laws in August. We will have 20 people ages 10 - 75. They love dancing - balroom, latin, swing - anything old school. Have in mind a classy big band dinner dance, Rainbow Room style. Is there such a thing anymore?

Location: they live in Hunterdon County and have a place in Margate. So either Atlantic City area or central NJ. Always willing to go to NYC. Already considering one of the dinner cruises. I haven't lived in NJ in a long time, so really don't have any idea where to start.

Any ideas?

Where to find Totten Inlet VIRGINICA oysters in Seattle...

As far as I know, Taylor is the only one raising Virginicas (Totten or elsewhere) as it is an eascoast variety Bill Taylor brought here himself. I heard this folklore about 2 years ago, so things may have changed, or it could be an oyster myth.

reservation at tickets and waitlist?

I used the email right of the contact on the website. I only gave them 2 dates that I was avail. Had my choice of time. Note that they only take parties of 2 or 4, and cannot accomodate vegetarians or "people who don't eat seafood".

Last Minute Weekend Visit

For Saturday dinner, i would suggest Sitka and Sprice, Local 360 or Flying Fish for casual, upbeat, local feeling.

I had this same problem, so I emailed them and got a date during my visit, whiche was only a few weeks away. So worth the $$ - 41 "surpises" - amazing adventure!

reservation at tickets and waitlist?

Note that 41 new concept doesn't allow folks coming in for drinks until dinner service is over about 11:00 pm. But maybe they could get a res @ tickets for a later date.

reservation at tickets and waitlist?

As my trip approached, I would check the calendar daily, and I would see random dates appear, but they would still be well into the future.

41 grados was AMAZING, and Chef Adria had to approve every plate that we were served. So worth it!

I requested to be wait listed by email, and they replied they do not have a wait list, and that canceled reservations would show up online. I did get a res at 41 by an email request.
