Ravioli?
There is Ravioli Station in Free-Lard (Leary way btwn Ballard and Freemont)
Causual, rustic, nothing special kinda place, but if you seek ravioli, they are pretty good.
Group Dining in Sydney
Thanks for thIs. At Customs House, assume you mean Cafe Sydney, top floor? That looks perfect- bit os Sydney culture with nice view. I assume the food is good or you would not have mentioned here.
We have two smaller dinners, so Spice temple may work for that. Any other recommendations in the Rocks? There is so much there, hard to navigate what's good and can handle a large group.
Many thanks!
Group Dining in Sydney
Coming for a meeting in October, and need a place for about 30 people. The meeting planners tend to select touristy places that have a nice view (often rotating) but bad food. Any suggestions for somewhere nice that has great food? We are staying at the intercontinental, but can arrange transportation for a short journey. We are coming from the states, but our guests will be from all around Australia.
Havent been to Syndey in 10+ years, so looking forward to it! Many thanks in advance!
reservation at tickets and waitlist?
try tripadvisor. i have seen strangers coordinate seats on the forum
40th Birthday Dinner
totally agree on Willows. We had a very memorable night there.
are you looking for a date nite place or group of friends?
Dinner and Dancing for 50th Anniversary
I am trying to plan a 50th Anniversary evening for my in-laws in August. We will have 20 people ages 10 - 75. They love dancing - balroom, latin, swing - anything old school. Have in mind a classy big band dinner dance, Rainbow Room style. Is there such a thing anymore?
Location: they live in Hunterdon County and have a place in Margate. So either Atlantic City area or central NJ. Always willing to go to NYC. Already considering one of the dinner cruises. I haven't lived in NJ in a long time, so really don't have any idea where to start.
Any ideas?
Where to find Totten Inlet VIRGINICA oysters in Seattle...
As far as I know, Taylor is the only one raising Virginicas (Totten or elsewhere) as it is an eascoast variety Bill Taylor brought here himself. I heard this folklore about 2 years ago, so things may have changed, or it could be an oyster myth.
reservation at tickets and waitlist?
I used the email right of the contact on the website. I only gave them 2 dates that I was avail. Had my choice of time. Note that they only take parties of 2 or 4, and cannot accomodate vegetarians or "people who don't eat seafood".
Last Minute Weekend Visit
For Saturday dinner, i would suggest Sitka and Sprice, Local 360 or Flying Fish for casual, upbeat, local feeling.
Carmine Has Passed
How terribly sad; he will be miseed. I do hope they carry the legacy.
reservation at tickets and waitlist?
I had this same problem, so I emailed them and got a date during my visit, whiche was only a few weeks away. So worth the $$ - 41 "surpises" - amazing adventure!
reservation at tickets and waitlist?
Note that 41 new concept doesn't allow folks coming in for drinks until dinner service is over about 11:00 pm. But maybe they could get a res @ tickets for a later date.
Seafood in Seattle this weekend/LOBSTER
I forgot to note that the sliders of delight are at Franks Oyster House!
reservation at tickets and waitlist?
As my trip approached, I would check the calendar daily, and I would see random dates appear, but they would still be well into the future.
41 grados was AMAZING, and Chef Adria had to approve every plate that we were served. So worth it!
Seafood in Seattle this weekend/LOBSTER
Nice info, did not know that!
If lobster is a must, then the lobster roll sliders are pretty dang tasty!
reservation at tickets and waitlist?
I requested to be wait listed by email, and they replied they do not have a wait list, and that canceled reservations would show up online. I did get a res at 41 by an email request.
Business and Pleasure in Barcelona
6 days to go! Can someone help with suggestions for seafood for our first night in town? Rias G?
41 Degrees Current Tasting Menu
My confirmation said "the menu is not for vegetarians or anyone who does not eat fish". Obviously it doensn't mean no meat, but it seems it is more seafood focuses.
I am going in 2 weeks! so excited!
Business and Pleasure in Barcelona
I am leaving in 10 days! Coming from SEA and get to have a few days (and meals) for fun while at a meeting. Staying at Hotel Arts. Done some trolling on the board, and would love some input on my food agenda.
Tues: arrive noonish, thinking late lunch at Kaiku. Dinner? Seafood? Is Alkimia too much w/ jet lag?
Wed: lunch at Boqueria. Business dinner at Casa Calvet
Thurs: All meals at Hotel Arts
Fri: Hotel and group business dinner at El Xalet
Sat: lunch? sight seeing and Quimet y Quimet?
Sat dinner - scored reservation at 41 gradas!!!!! So excited
Sun- morning flight
So questions -
Need a res at Kaiku on a Tues?
Will Boequeria be better on Tues or Sat in Nov?
Dinner on first night - anything I am categorically missing from my trip?
Appropriate lunch before 8:00 res at 41?
Thanks in advance!!
RN 74
No sure how this RN74 thread turned into a CG thread. I like RN74. Agree, the noise level and table proximity is atrocious. I have only had a full meal once, but it was good. Salmon w/ foie gras, cooked perfectly, corn chowder that was hot, and the tempura matsutake were crispy, not greasy. Service was very very good. amazingly informed about food and wine, appropriately attentive and not at all fussy.
since then, we have been for pre-theater for drinks and apps(sadly no good food destinations is this area, so I am glad they opened this downtown!) . In hindsight, was not as wowed as the first time. Hmm...first dinner was in early summer so maybe the Mina supervision has dropped away, and they are losing their touch.
Bareclona EL XALET
We will have a charter transportation so that is acceptable. I will look at the Barceloneta as well. Any other ideas welcome!
Bareclona EL XALET
Hi, does anyone know this retaurant? I am planning a business dinner for about 60 - 75 people and need a nice restaurant not too far from Hotel Arts (moderate price).
The meeting planner recommened Restaurant El Xalet, does anyone know if it is good?

Thank you in advance!
One Night (Anniversary) in Seattle - Where to eat (I've searched! Still have questions)
RN74 is NOT romantic. It is great food, and occasion worthy, but that occasion should be willing to talk over all the din. It is rather noisy.
Spur would be great, and agree with Chez Shea and Crush. I also like Boat St for a date. Mistral would work, too. Less cozy than above, but not too bright or noisy.

Chez Shea

Where do you get your specialty cuts?
Bill the Butcher? I am sure if you ask in advance you can get whatever you need, as he sometimes sources whole animals.
Lunch destination as part of scenic drive
what about breakfast/brunch at the Salish lodge? It is a pretty drive, scenic location, and then you can get somewhere for football afterward.
Need Dark Restaurant
What neighborhood are you looking for? Shez Chea is pretty dark (meant to be romantic) or Il Bistro, but maybe too busy?

Il Bistro

Restaurants next to Gaudi, 55th and 35th NE in Seattle?
Franks is totally worht your time and $$. Mini-lobster rolls are divine.
LA Hound Coming on Short Notice -- Help!
Spur is far more eclectic than Quinns, but not as "precious" as BB, Canlis or Mistral,(i do love BB, but your assessment is accurate, so maybe not what you seek). Spur is one of my favorite place for cocktails, and their small plates are wonderful, but not overthought.

LA Hound Coming on Short Notice -- Help!
I would not recommend Tom Douglas to the OP, but I do recommend everytime my mom's friends pass through town for an Alaskan cruise. it is consistent, good food. not great, not new or inventive, but for a certain audience, perfect.
LA Hound Coming on Short Notice -- Help!
I would agree. There is obviously much better fine dining in NYC (we just can't seem to sustain any really high end dining experiences) and we will never have the variety, but I think that we have some damn good food here!
I would add Spur to your list of possibilities.
