Super Moon Buffet in St Louis Park - Any tried it? Awful. I went there today about 2:00 for a late lunch. They were very crowded, but there did not seem to be much turnover in food. Many of the dishes I tried were cold. Everybody mentions the selection-- yes there was much to chose from, but 90% of it were items I had no interest in. (I probably sampled 10-12 items, and that *included* the dessert area.) A few dishes were undercooked. I took one bite out of an eggroll and almost spit it out. Same with their barbecue chicken. I tried a few other dishes I could not finish, too. The dim sum did not look appitizing at all. The Mongolian station was too slow (frying one serving at a time), and the sauces were bland. They did not have many of the 'mainstays' of Chinese buffets: No chow mein; no lo main; not even beef with vegetables. Their fried rice was terrible (no flavor, hardly any pork stock, very few additional ingredients). Even the dessert area was a flop. (My vanilla ice cream was half liquid and yellow, not white.) Service was mediocre at best. The restaurant itself was noisy and smelled (and not a good, food smell, either). Prices were rediculous considering the bad food. ZERO stars for the atmosphere; ONE star for the food; ONE & A HALF stars for the service; ZERO stars for the price/value. The first time I have left a restaurant hungry in many years. |
