Need Bar/Restaurant to watch football on Sunday near 63rd and 3rd, something the wife will tolerate, food needs to be good not fancy, not a frat boy bar. Thanks

The Bar Room on 60th b/w lex and park-- you'll have to sit at the bar though, I don't think they have TV's in the dining area.

I wouldn't consider Fishtail "casual" unless you sit downstairs.

Ilili looks good, thank you! Is it the type of place you can have people come meet you afterwards?

Round Table

Hi All-
I'm a big fan of a round table for groups. The problem is, a lot of Manhattan restaurants don't have round tables for larger parties. Here's my dilemma:
I'm looking for a round table that seats 12-14 people.
The food needs to accommodate meat eaters and vegetarians (and obviously should be good)
Price point $75-$100 per person including tip, tax, alcohol
Atmosphere fun, not stuffy----extra bonus points if the restaurant turns into an after spot post dining hours--or has a fun spot near by. (This is for a milestone birthday.)
Not an easy task, and I appreciate any help you guys can provide!
Thanks!!!

West Village NYC

Aria (can get very crowded--small)
Ofrenda (tables are close together, but great Mexican)
Gene's (an older crowd/atmosphere but one of the best Italian places and great prices--the baked ziti is not to be missed for $13.95!!)

Sunday Brunch Manhatan

I was unclear if you wanted the East side or West side, but keeping in mind your location requirement:
East:
RiverPark (nice outdoor space)
Park Avenue Summer
Zemi (food is FANTASTIC---very casual though)
David Burke's Fishtail (has a garden), or Townhouse around the corner is excellent as well

West:
Telepan
Lincoln
Asiate

Asiate or Gilt?!

I wanted to thank everyone for their contributions. I wound up going with Gilt and honestly could not have been happier. While we both found dish after dish to be exceptional, a specific stand out for me was one of their amuse's. It was crab dish with popcorn and a cantaloupe sorbet scooped on top. A specific stand out for him was his appetizer of wagu beef tartar. The explosion of flavor and textures was one of the most interesting I've experienced. Gilt truly made the evening special for us, and the meal did nothing short of wow us both. Thanks again!!

Birthday Dinner and drinks suggestions around LES???

I don't remember it being problem (line wise) for friends that met up after...but it was a few months ago. Places are constantly changing as for "whats in" and whats not. I think maybe give them a call and ask. I don't see why they wouldn't be honest with you.

2 Days/Nights in Manhattan. I think I have it right... but do I have it right?

I'm a little confused...you're planning on having 2 dinners, or are you asking for us to chose between your dinner one and dinner two choices? Is this over a weekend or weekday?

Birthday Dinner and drinks suggestions around LES???

If you're looking to stay after you eat I'd first suggest Beauty and Essex. Its the same owners as Stanton, but caters much more towards the after dinner crowd. Another suggestion is CO-OP. They do well with groups, and also have a fun after dinner room.

I personally am not a fan of The Delancey. I think its in a seedy area, and gets a weird crowd...but to each his own.

5 days in New York

I havent been to Ciano, but deciding between Scarpetta and LV on food alone, I'd go to LV without a second thought. I know there is a lot of love on this board for Scarpetta, but I was incredibly disappointed 2x with their food. (I thought the first time was a fluke, so I went back a second time). LV, although loud, and a little cramped, was delicious each time I've been. (Dinner 2x and Brunch).

Cheap, Group, Late Night, Union Square, Dinner

Timing might be tight on this one too (they close at midnight) but, Saigon Market is a great group place that fits your budget. They have large round tables! Its on 12th and University.

Seeking very kosher restaurant in midtown

Financier makes amazing iced coffee. I drink it black its so good. There are multiple locations throughout Manhattan, but the one that suits your requirement is at 688 Sixth Avenue (22nd st).

One Night Only!

Hi All!
I'm a NYer heading to Chicago for the first time...but only for ONE dinner!!! My problem is this is a last minute trip, and I first land at 8, so I'm not going to want to eat a heavy meal.
If you had to choose 1 place that someone MUST try where would you send them? I'll be staying downtown.
I only plan on getting an entree given it will be so late, so I'd prefer to keep the total under $50 including tip and a glass of wine.
Thanks for your help!!

Parents insisting on Little Italy - please help with alternatives

I recommend Da Nico. Personally I think its the only restaurant worth going to in LI if someone insists on eating there. They have street dining as well as a garden in the back.

Asiate or Gilt?!

Unfortunately lunch isn't an option. I want food to be first priority, service second, and then ambiance. The person who's birthday it is, isn't big into the food scene, but I have permission to do what I want to make it special. While I don't want to spend the Daniel/EMP money, I think he might be overwhelmed by that experience, so I was trying to take that into consideration as well. Keeping that in mind, where else would you recommend?

Asiate or Gilt?!

Hi All...
I'm taking someone special out for his 30th next month. Reservations open shortly for the date I want to claim. Although Daniel, or EMP would be a true special experience, I'd prefer to spend less. I've been to Asiate for breakfast which was an amazing experience, but never dinner. I know they can't guarantee a window table there, if they could my decision would be easy. Based on food, and service alone, which would you recommend, Asiate or Gilt? I think both rooms are equally beautiful.
Thanks!!!
