New range - Blue Star or Viking or Capital - or something else?

We bought 900 cfm exhaust hood from China on line and it works good except when the grill is on smoking alot but he put a cap on the vent pipe on the roof that restricts the air flow but he's going to take it off and it should work much better.
The prices on ventihood were too pricey for us so we went online and ordered one from china and we like it.

Some pans are too small, I have to make sure the heat is lower because the fire comes up around the pan. The Grill is easy to clean but takes some time to heat up. Now about the ventahood....We are not real happy with the one we purchased manily because its not takeing the smoke out fast enough. My husband knows more about that than I but hes not here to ask him. I just know the grill can really smoke up when cooking.
What I like is the speed of boiling water. I can cook hard boil eggs nothing flat! Theres going to be likes and dislikes on every stove. I didn't want the Big Red knobs on the front and the capital has all stainless steel. So everyone has like and dislikes about each stove. But all I can say is we are happy with our purchase.

Ours is gas with open burners. Would you believe we haven't tried the self cleaning oven yet, but will soon. Everything comes apart easly the burners and theres a pull out tray that catchs spills etc and so easy to clean. The simmer is great! My husband loves putting things on simmer and walking away because he alwas forgets whats on the stove and nothing has burned yet. The only thing negative is the burner handles are touchy and at times leaning up against the stove has turned the handles on. We have the rotessarie but really don't use it much. I think we cooked a chicken and ribs once. We have the top grill and use it all the time cooking hamburgers, chops etc. We are very happy with our stove.

Best Fort Worth Dessert possibly near west 7th.

Wow that sounds good too! Alot of work. Can you imagine how many cakes and eggs they crack at the shop? Anytime I have a special occasion I head for the Swiss Bakery! I just celebrated my 60th birthday and my family had a surprize party. Guess what the Cake was!! Yep and it was sooooooo good......

I haven't really tried the Self Clean yet. Plan on cleaning it soon. I've been able to clean inside good so far. Only time I made any mess was with the rotisserie, and I've only used it twice.

Agree strongly--Bobby Flay, you got a Texas wife, you should be ashamed of your raves!

We Tried Rudy's in Austin and really didn't care for it. I don't know if its the way they served it or the little plastic cups with the coleslaw and potato salad and beans were served. It just didn't appeal to us. We now have a new Rudy's in Arlington and We haven't gone back. It just wasn't the best we've had.

We just purchased a Capitol 36" self clean with grill, and LOVE IT! After reading alot about the vikings we scratched that one right away. We read more good reviews on this Capitol. Althou pricey it was my dream stove. We just remodeled our kitchen after 40yrs and went Highend all the way. LOVE IT so much, and now retired. Ours has a rotessaire too. We only used it once but did great. The convection oven is great too. I just need to learn how to time everything better. Everything cooks so much faster than the cheapo Stove I use to have so its a big change for me.

Where do you keep the Kitchen Aid mixer?

I know this is an old thread but I just remodeled my kitchen and my KA was the first thing I thought about....Where do I put this HEAVY thing. Its too heavy to lugg very far. So Mine is on a pull out shelve under a long counter we built. Just have to lift up to the counter and a plug is right there. I really don't use my KA mixer much, I think because its too much for me. But I won't part with it. My husband surprized me with it one day.

When we celebrate a special day we drive from Arlington to the west side off vickery called "Swiss Bakery". The black forest cake is to die for! My family has to have it for birthdays, christmas,Thanksgiving. Its just so darn good. Loaded with shaved chocolate, whip cream and nothing like you've had before in Black Forest Cake (No Cherries). I know your anniversary is over but next time you want a Spectaular dessert drive over to Swiss Bakery. off Montgomery and Vickery. About 1/2 mile from there.

Help! Viking oven will not unlock after self-clean

We have a new Capitol with self Cleaning oven and today the same thing happened We could'nt get the oven door to open. We haven't even used the self clean feature yet. My husband was so mad about it. We don't know how it got locked. But what was weird we waited for about 20min and then it opened. Then I was reading here where someone said the oven may need to cool down before it opens. Even thou we hadn't had the oven on we still couldn't figure out why it was locked then later it unlocked.. Oh well as long as I can cook again. These highend ranges are hard to figure out.

How to make a Good Eggroll Easy!

I love these certain egg rolls I get in my city from a vietnamese eggroll place. They are so crunchy and with sweet sauce are to die for. I would love to know how to make an eggroll. My neighbor who is Japanese makes a good spring roll. Thinner than an eggroll. And I like those too. One day I'm going to invite her over to teach me how she makes hers. She uses alot of those clear noodles. The eggroll place uses more veggies but I think they have some clear noodles too. One time I tried to make some eggrolls and they were so SOGGY.. gross. I think my vegetables (cabbage, carrots) were too wet. I need to learn the nack for it! Any ideas or help??

Wolf/Bluestar/Capital

We purchased a 36" Capitol self clean, rotisserie and LOVE IT. Its remarkable how fast everything cooks and the oven browns everything perfect. Sometimes we come across a few issues but they seem to work them selves out. The knobs can get turned very easy if you lean on them and it has happened where we didn't know the grill was on. At first my husband wanted the griddle but I'm glad at the last minute we changed to the Grill. He loves it now! This is our first high end kitchen and we purchased all highend appliances. Retired now and enjoying it.

30" Wolf vs Viking Vs. Capital Culinarian

We purchased our 36"Capitol Culinarian Series in January and all I can say is I LOVE IT,LOVE IT,LOVE IT. Cooks and browns everything so fast. I don't even really know how to use it but I'm learning. Only think I really don't care for is the Touchy Knobs. If I lean to the back it seems to puch the knobs in. Couple times we didn't notice that the oven was on or the Grill. Yikes it was hot! but we admire it everyday. This was our Dream Kitchen that we remodeled
