Midweek organic farmers market?

I normally go to the one across from Alon's on saturday morning but sometimes want to get more local heirloom tomatos during the week. Does anyone know of something that happens on a day other than Saturday? Or maybe a store that sells them?

local produce in atlanta

If one should happen to miss the Saturday morning market in Va. Highlands or other places, can you get locally grown produce during the week? Any midweek markets or stores that stock it?

I-26 Through SC - Any good SC-style BBQ?

Well I'm not sure where you were eating BBQ while in the low country in general and the Myrtle Beach area in particular but I have never seen a mustard based sauce around there. Granted I've only eaten at BBQ restaurants in Hemmingway, Myrtle Beach, Georgetown, Pawley's Island, Andrews and Kingstree. I never fail to stop at a roadside BBQ fundraiser along 17. I've been to many different peoples pig pickin's in the area and I BBQ my own pigs low country style, but no mustard sauce. Granted I do use mustard in my sauce, I put in about 12 oz for every gallon of vinegar (and many other ingredients as well), but that's all. For those who might be looking for a mustard based sauce BBQ experience in the low country, I think the only thing you will find of value is a map to Columbia.

how long to broil for london broil?

I think it helps reduce the chewy factor if you slice it at about a 45 degree angle. It also gives your slices a larger surface area than if you cut straight up and down.

Gourmet Fish Sticks

Make fish tacos with tlapia or grouper, about 1/2 X 1/2 X 3 inches. Coat in flour, then make an egg wash with 1 egg and 2 T of milk (beat together) and coat the floured sticks with the egg mix. Then toss them with panko bread crumbs and shallow fry them in 1/2 inch of oil. Make some jalapeno cole slaw and serve with corn tortillias. For the tortillias just rub them with a little oil and put them in a heated dry frying pan for a minute or two each side. How about some refried bean on the side...

HELP!!!!! Planning Wife's 30th Birthday Party (in Atlanta)

That is exactly what I was thinking. A friend of mind did his wife's birthday there a few years ago and it was a great time. They had a private room that was right behind the bar area, where they set out an assortment of tapas that they continually refreshed. You could talk with friends and guests in the room where it is quieter, yet also go hang out in the main room and listen to the music and watch the scene if you wanted.

What's the Most Time Consuming Thing You Have Ever Cooked?

Amen to that! And along with the confit, I made the sausage links too. Never really could find a recipe for a sausage typical of cassoulet so I made one up using fresh pork and a good amount of garlic and some s&p. Also, never found a connection to buy the traditional dish used to cook it in and so used a cast iron dutch oven kind of thing. Curious, what did you do for your sausage and cooking vessel?
