Best meal I ever ate:

Nostalgia: When my grandparents used to take me to the Jade Fountain in Paramus NJ for Pu-Pu platter after trips to Toys-R-Us--FRIED CHINESE FOOD PLUS TOYS!! Truly the best meals: Mountaintop lunches in the French Alps while I'm skiing (Le Signal, La Frutiere, etc. in Val d'Isere). Best meal close to home: June Tasting Dinner at Blue Hill Stone Barns.

My current drink of choice:

Vodka Gimlet

I really wish I could:

Go on an around-the-world food tour (okay...now I've strarted that so I'll amend to say -- around-the-world food tour with an unlimited budget and no concern for my waistline!)

My "Go-to" dinner party dish:

Summer: Grilled shrimp with various asian dipping sauces, vodka infused watermelon salad with mint, spicy corn fritters made with fresh Jersey corn. Winter: Braised duck with port and cherries, or, if lazier, Lemon Roast Chicken, tirammisu or apple crisp

My favorite comfort food:

Since childhood (see above), americanized chinese food. Second choice is a tie: bagels or khao soi (northern Thai curry)

My top 5 favorite restaurants:

Blue Hill Stone Barns (Pocantino Hills, NY), Na's Kitchen (Pai, Thailand), Katz's Deli (NYC), Le Signal (Val d'Isere, France), when in NYC, whatever neighborhood Italian or comfort-food place is solid at the moment (in the past....Dell'anima, Bellavitae, Little Owl, and Barbuto have filled this slot)
