What's for Dinner #135 [old]

Sorry to hear of your loss, I've been down that road quite a bit myself, and am dreading the day when my family loses the current "old man of the house"-George a 24 year old(this May) Siamese mix cat! He rules the house with an iron paw. He didn't like the way the newest dog(a 50 pound Pit Bull) was sniffing him, so he turned around and smacked him in the face sending the dog running for cover! God, we'll miss him when he goes!

dad need recipes

Here's a really easy one. Hack up an onion, put it in the bottom of a well greased crock pot. Top with a cheap chunk of beef-roast, steak, whatever. Pour one bottle/can of your favorite beer over the top and cook on low for 8 hrs. This comes out great, and don't worry the alcohol all evaporates after this amount of cooking time! The leftovers can be shredded and made into beef barbecue(just add your favorite bottled sauce), or chopped up and turned into beef fried rice, or sliced for sandwiches. I make this when I need a "no fuss" dinner that will yield leftovers for several days. My personal favorite so far is to use Guinness, but this is too strong for some folks.

Really Dumb Food...!

I can't remember where, but in searching for knit/crochet patterns, I once found a pattern to crochet edible panties out of licorice laces!! I guess it takes all kinds...

Cake you can eat with your hands?

My favorite cake for eating by hand is pound cake. I found out recently that the recipe my family uses is from The Original Fannie Farmer Cookbook. Published in 1896!! Old, but delicious!! Also, not cheap, or low fat/calorie ;)
