All the meals made by a friend's mother, who was visiting from India. The food, the stories about the food, learning the prep for the meals--all the best.
I also have a fondness for Vietnamese cuisines, so I'd probably say my experience at various mom & pop restaurants serving up awesome Vietnamese food.
My current drink of choice:
Seem to be addicted to San Pellegrino (with or without a splash of lime).
I really wish I could:
Retire to Paris (without worrying about money!).
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
A perfectly roasted chicken with lemon, rosemary, salt and pepper served with buttery potatoes that have roasted in the chicken fat -- it's basic, but also decadent. Serve it with a seasonal green salad and a home-baked dessert (usually a fruit tart). It's a meal you can eat of lightly or really dig in with lust, and I think it has wide appeal.
My favorite comfort food:
My most tattered cookbooks:
I like to read older cookbooks as artifacts of their time. I'm especially fond of 19th c. "housewife" guides, but I also enjoy translations of much older cook books. Bring on the Rennaisance!
