Rancid (slightly) oil -- still usable?

Well the Internet contains lots of "information". Not that I don't believe people here, but can someone provide some concrete evidence that Canola Oil is bad in general? Here is something I found on snoped: http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/...

Some people still think MSG is toxic - it isn't.

Family Reunion Meals - revisiting our past

Our family often has multi-day reunions. So for that, a different group is usually in charge of each meal, like the "kids" will organize one dinner, Aunt So-and-So the next one, etc. And then use something like www.yourcoconut.com to keep track of the organization.

For a one-meal reunion, everyone bringing enough food for the number of people they're bringing sounds pretty reasonable. Usually people bring random food items anyway, for those "in-between-meal" times. Come to think of it, we did go to a Bavarian restaurant once - that was pretty good, if I remember.

lunch in or around Sacto -- not burgers 'n fries, please

We actually haven't been to too many dosa places in the Bay Area (any recommendations are welcome). We went to Saravana Bhavan in Mountain View and then Annapoorna in San Mateo before it changed to a different place. I'm no expert, but Kaveri's seemed pretty comparable to those two.

Well it's probably not Punjabi, but there was a South Indian restaurant called Kaveri just outside Sacarmento (1148 Fulton Ave, Ste A, Sacramento, CA 95825) that we used to go to a lot for their dosas. One of our favorites was their Rava Masala Dosa. They also have the usual curries and other dishes.
