Humeur...still open? Les Heritiers --

Going to Montreal in June. Has anyone tried Humeur lately? And how about Les Heritiers?
Any feedback on current BYO's would be very much appreciated. I promise to post a report in June when we return.
La Colombe? Le P'Tit Plateau? Les Infideles? O'Thym? Monsieur B? LeQuartier General?
Any others?

Polish Kielbasi

Does anyone know a Polish butcher or deli that makes their own kielbasi? I'm not talking smoked, I'm talking regular kielbasi -- that looks like Italian sausage....but of course, different spices.
There used to be a few places around the Garfield/Wallington area, but I cannot seem to find anyone who makes it anymore.

Meat Thermometer

Okay, I've had several, and this year's turkey was raw and had to go back in!!!
I don't mind spending the money, so what's the best meat thermometer out there? I have one for candy making, and it works just fine, but I've never had a meat thermometer that was accurate.
Thanks!

Black Rose any good for breakfast?

DRATS!!! Max's Deli only open Monday thru Friday. The menu looked like just what we were looking for! Too bad we'll only be there Sat/Sun. Boo hoo :-(

Black Rose any good for breakfast?

Will be staying at the Long Wharf and want a breakfast place, close-by. Just regular eggs, sausage (bangers), bacon....nothing spectacular, but a short walk.
Any comments?

Just wondering what's in its place

New England Lobster Rolls

I'd have to agree on Neptunes. After reading such great reviews here, we went, along with another couple. Such a teeny tiny amount of claw meat on a New England bun...we expected it to be enough to share. What a joke. It was totally laughable to the point of complaining to management, but right then and there we decided never to return. To put 1-2 tablespoons of filling on a roll is just inexcusable.

Best Martini in Boston

WOW!!! I had no idea this would create such a "stir" (no pun intended!)
Thank you to ALL! What a wonderfu list I have compiled...although I doubt we will pay $18...that's a little steep. Our top price so far was $15 in NYC.
Thank you again -- to all posters!

Best Martini in Boston

Staying at the Marriott Long Wharf...can anyone tell me where the best martini is made? We sometimes take the T to Cambridge...and I've heard plenty of bars over there.
So, other than the hotel bar, where is the best classic martini?
Thanks!

Cactus Cafe, Rt. 54, Delaware

Getting ready for a trip to OC and wondering if anything has changed at Cactus Cafe? Good or bad.
Thanks!

Ocean City Maryland Bound

We've been going to OC for years, and it's so full of tourist places. Sometimes we go to Rt. 54 (Delaware), but only a few blocks from OC. There is a place called Cactus Cafe. Great Mexican food. Also on the same road, a very good Italian place called Mio Fratello. Excellent food.
There are some good places all the way down by the boardwalk if you turn onto Rt. 50. There's an Outback Steakhouse (predictable, but reliable) and a Ruth's Chris, as well as many fish restaurants on your left-hand side.

Nice place for a Martini

Going to the MOMA tomorrow (Sunday)...we'll probably leave when they close and wondered if anyone could recommend a nice place nearby for a martini.
Thanks so much.

New Thread on JTM and Atwater

We won't have cooking facilities at our hotel and I don't think we can bring back crab or shrimp to the US, can we? I guess we'd settle for eating some on the spot, though! :-)
So, no fresh fruits and vegies yet? Will only the indoor market be open? I will def. miss all the beautiful flowers and plants!

New Thread on JTM and Atwater

We'll be coming next week but usually come to Montreal in June, so a bit different for us. Please tell me what's good/available at both markets this time of year? We are looking forward to a "different" montreal in March this time.

Any new BYOs in the Plateau I should try?

SnackHappy I have to agree. Each year we NEVER miss Les Heritiers. But we loved their old location and menu. The new place is awesome -- make no mistake -- but the menu, not so much. The new location is absolutely gorgeous, but the food was disappointing.
I made a reservation for next week for Tandem, but read in my notes from last year that while I liked Tandem, their portions were small. maybe it was just the night we went or what we ordered, but I remember hubby wasn't too happy :-( I booked La Colombe instead, which we haven't gone to for a couple of years.

Yes, what did you like? We are going to Montreal next week and I've already made a reservation. We're going to Tandem, O'Thym and Monsieur B.

O'Thm or La Prunelle?

thanks, sweettooth. we had gone to O'Thym a few years ago and did like it, but have never been to LaPrunelle. Or, I could switch out Tandem and then go to BOTH O'Thym and LaPrunelle. Whatya think?

Which would YOU choose and why?

Please help me choose Restaurants

We've narrowed it down, but I can only choose three. Please give me your votes! Thank you!
LaPrunelle, O'Thym, Monsieur B and Tandem. One of them has got to go, and I'm at a loss!

L'Autre, Europea, LeGrain DeSel

Opps....my bad. I meant to list Monsieur B, one of our favs. I'm rethinking O'Thym, as well as Tandem...I've read some not-so-good reviews. We used to always hit Les Heritiers, but since they moved and changed their menu, we didn't like it as much.
Thank you for reminding me about Le Bleu Raisin. We went a couple of years ago..weren't unhappy, but obviously did not return for some reason, I guess.

Thank you to all! I think I'll go with O'Thym, La Colombe, Quartier General, and maybe Tandem.
Good selections?

Cote de Rhone at TJ's in Westfield

Bought a bottle of a very nice (and dry) tasting Cote de Rhone...very inexpensive...maybe $5.99 or $6.99? forgot to write down the name and now for the life of me I can't remember it. It was a short and stout bottle...to the effect that it would not fit in your standard wine bag. sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks!
