We went on Tuesday, and, other than not bringing everyone's food to the table at the same time (i.e., half the plates came out, the others followed 30 seconds later), it was every bit as good as it's ever been. Portion sizes, which used to be too large, are now just about right. I tried a bite of the sweetbreads/raviolini appetizer, which was amazing. Very pure flavors. Only complaint I had about the white asparagus appetizer that there was just one stalk, albeit large. Grilled swordfish with smoked potatoes was fantastic, perfectly cooked fish. Of course, having a table at the Embarcadero-side window didn't hurt, either. |

We were looking forward to trying it this coming Sunday, but for reasons that still remain unclear, they called a couple of dayt ago and told us they were cancelling our reservation. Absent some good explanation, I'm not inclined to spend my money there. |

Wednesday Burger at Biergarten [Hayes Valley, San Francisco] Asparagus??? That's what I call jumping the shark . . . or going round the bend. :) |

Copita Tequileria. Anyone tried it? [Sausalito] We happened to be in Sausalito a few months ago and popped in for late lunch on a Saturday. Food was tasty and service was fine. I put it in the same category as Tacolicious. I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip, but would definitely eat there again if I was in the neighborhood. |

FWIW, I went a couple of times, ten to twelve years ago. I wasn't thrilled about going then and saw no reason to return. About the nicest thing I could say was that the table we're well-spaced. |

We had a nice meal at Chilango last night (Church just south of Market). |

Shorty Goldstein's FiDi Jewish Deli,SF opened 3/5/13 - any reports? Walked by at 11:50, and there were probably 20 people in line. |

Where to eat near City College [SF]? Newly-opened Whole Foods across the street. |

Tony's Pizza - the St. Louis Style [San Francisco] I lived in St. Louis for a couple of years in the mid-90s. Your report reminded me of the mediocre, but cheap, pizza buffet I'd occasionally frequent at Maurizio's. I could never understand provel. I guess it's because I didn't grow up eating it. |

Help me WOW my English partner with amazing SF food... Cotogna takes reservations; call one month to the day before you want to dine. My wife and I ate there last weekend for our anniversary and had a nice meal, although the food was very rich (and I don't usually complain about that). If you want a really nice meal, Quince, next door, is even better, and the service is much better. More expensive, of course. |

Wise Son's Deli in the Mission? |

Atelier Crenn--please clarify menu options for me We celebrated our anniversary last year at Quince, and it was wonderful. |

Well put. |

Where to buy wild boar in San Francisco? Thank you -- bought some shoulder at Golden Gate Meats in the Ferry Building today. $12.10/lb. |

Foodie from Chicago needs to know what SFO Neighborhood to live in. One of the areas "near City College off Monterey Bvld." is the neighborhood I live in, Westwood Park (between Monterey & Ocean, bisected by Miramar). Wonderful little neighborhood with detached homes and some small green spaces (although I wouldn't call them parks). Only downside is that there are not a lot of places to walk to for something to eat. But there is a Whole Foods opening in spring 2012 on Ocean just east of Plymouth! |

Foodie from Chicago needs to know what SFO Neighborhood to live in. What is most important to you? Is it proximity to transportation/freeway access, given your twice-daily long commute? Is it a place for your dog to be outside? Is it neighborhood where you can get breakfast and dinner everyday? Access to good shopping? |

Have you tried Xiao Loong on West Portal? Nothing terribly "exotic," but it is a nice spot to eat in with good service, and they deliver. Further afield, in Mission Terrace (I believe) is Beijing Restaurant, which has been highly recommended on this board. ----- |

Need to find a place to get married! Our wedding was on a Sunday; they must have changed things. What about the Art & Garden Center in Ross/Greenbrae? |

Need to find a place to get married! We had our wedding and reception at the Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley. About 85 people. Very nice spot -- ceremony in small garden out back, drinks/hors d'oeuvres on patio, and reception inside. I seem to recall it being about $1500 for the space for the entire day, but that was in 1998. They don't provide food/drinks/music--that's all your own choice from your own vendor(s). |

Butter Burger @ Maverick - has anyone tried? So 12 replies, only one of which answered the question. |

Fine-ish dining - Tenderloin / Union Square Not at all. I had an asparagus soup to start, which was pretty good, although it needed some salt. Entree was the pork chop with grits and some greens that I don't recall. This was fantastic. It was a double chop; I ended up separating the two bones and gnawing on them. |

Fine-ish dining - Tenderloin / Union Square Gitane's a great idea, if you can get it. Had a nice meal at Fish & Farm last week, which is just around the corner from the Clift. ----- |

I walked past there at 12:30 today and was shocked by how long the line was. Must have been 30-40 people. Are they handing out Benjamins with their food, or is it really that good? |

What's in and near Bernal Heights? Balompie for great pupusas. |

Agree that the food at Chouchou is average, and the service, in my experience, doesn't even rise to that level. ----- |

What I meant was, I think he's new to being a waiter, not just new to the restaurant. |
