NYC Dinner for 15-- want to get dressed up

Hi All,

I'm hosting a dinner for 15 people in their 20s. I want people to feel good about getting dressed up (suits for men, dresses for the women, etc).

Any location in Manhattan is a possibility.

Ideally $100 pp (pre tax/tip)

Thanks!

Private Party for 100+ !

Hello!

I need to host an event in February for 100 -125 people.
We would need a private room, dinner (buffet or sit down) and open bar (wine & beer) for under $100 pp (excl. tax & tip)

If it could be in walking distance of the Holiday Inn Wall Street (51 Nassau St) that would be ideal. But I'm happy to consider locations that are a subway trip away.

Any help at all would be appreciated!

Thank You!

Mulled Wine?

Looking for nice holiday wine in nyc.

In Europe mulled wine / vin chaud / gluwhein seem to be everywhere. But I really haven't seen much in New York. Can anyone help point me in the direction of some bars that will serve a festive holiday treat?

Thanks!

Alternative to Dunkin Donuts Box o'Joe

I don't know where in Manhattan you are, but Bagel & Bean on the west side recently did a great job for me (but I also ordered bagels, I don't know if that will impact the price).

They drop off the coffee and then will come back to pick up the thermos-thing later that day.

Family Dinner near white house

Hi,
I'm looking for dinner in the white house area for my family (some of whom have never visited DC before).
There will be 8 of us, ranging in age from 23 to 78. Looking for a relatively casual meal, coming in under $30pp (excluding tax/tip/alcohol).

Italian or American cuisine would probably be ideal.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Best Cheesecake in New York?

I'm looking for the best New York Cheesecake. I know Lindy's is famous, but is it actually the best? Or just for tourists?

Any favorites out there?

"New York" meal for out of towners

I think by "New York" I just want them to feel like they aren't in Kansas anymore (or Poland as the case may be). Just a chance to get a bit dressed up and have a good food.

As for other meals, there are no reservation but there will be a lot of Indian, Thai, Mexican etc. Pretty much all the foods people can't get in their current locales.

"New York" meal for out of towners

Hi,

I have friends coming to visit for a week from all over the world (no other Americans in the group). I want to take them out for a nice, "New York" meal. (We'll be doing cheap, but no less "New York" every other night.) I'm hoping for something where we can get a little dressed up, and enjoy ourselves in a nice atmosphere. A tasting menu would be fun, but not essential, as they are probably out of my price range.

So:
4 people
trying to keep it to $50 per person not including tax, tip and alcohol.

Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Work Lunch in the East 50s

Update: I just found out that Asian (so Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese) are not going to work.
So I need something new– Radicchio sounds good.

Can anyone think of something that might serve like Salads, Sandwiches, Burgers, etc. With Table Service?

Thanks!

Work Lunch in the East 50s

Hi All!

I'm meeting a former colleague for lunch next week. I want to meet near her office– 3rd avenue between 51st and 52nd for a relatively quick (an hour or less) lunch. So walking distance from there is a must.

It should be relatively cheap ($20 or less per person. No alcohol. Before tax and tip) and I would prefer table service, not just a sandwich or salad place.

Any thoughts?

Thank you!

Milk and Honey – worth the membership?

I've never been to M&H, but I have heard people singing its praises for years.
So that leaves me with two questions:

1) Is it still possible to get in without being a member?
2) Is the membership fee worth it?

Thanks!
