PHX area with 2 kids 8, 11

NYC CH here and looking for some fun, cool places to eat in the area. They are experienced eaters so please dont filter suggestions because they are kids. I would like to avoid $$$$ places. We have great sushi, chinese and italian in NYC but not great authentic mexican and BBQ. Also any fun cowboy themes or really beautiful views would be great.

Thanks

Cigar friendly in NYC

I believe the HUstler club on the west side has a cigar lounge as well if you are into mixing those 2 vices

Get away from Nobu just nothing special at all. try the new North End Grill or Locande Verde always delivers.
American Cut steakhouse is working well these days.

CHOW Reviews: Ninja Professional Blender

Any jucie you make in this blender will need to be poured through a strainer. Not a big deal but no way to avoid slush no matter how you cut the food or how long you blend.

Have you checked out Staton Social Club? Fun atmosphere and could work with your budget. Also cool hood to walk around in before or after.

North End Grill (Eric Korsh, n=1)

Thanks for the feedback.. Went to NEG multiple times last year but was getting bored with the menu and the high pricing. Ill give it another shot. However, not loving all the shouting from the kitchen. That gets old very quickly especially if you are seated in the bar area

Two very good meals this past week

Feast is a lower price point than Hearth and not nearly the extensive wine list, which I find a bit daunting at Hearth. Definitely worth checking out.

Two very good meals this past week

First was River Park. We have been here before and always felt is was good bit this time we were very impressed. The Buratta, Octopus, Dorade and Sashimi were all excellent, fresh and bursting with flavors.

THe other was Feast on 13 and 3. First time and a suprisingly good meal. Figgy Piggy was delish but a little rare for my taste, lambburger was top notch, mushroom ravioli and eggplan rissoto served in a halved/fried eggplant were great. Try this place out.

Best restaurant for a 40th Birthday with wife and 2 kids aged 10&15?

What about the original message had the word "special birthday dinner". There are 2 kids with varying levels of adventurous eating habits. Landmarc has great food, very kid friendly and its white tablecloth not something like Blue Smoke. The one in Tribeca at a large table upstairs would be ideal in my opinion.

Union Square Cafe Closing

Many of these landlords at actually property conglomerates that own properties all over NYC, Chicago, LA, San Fran.....One property sitting vacant out of 100 is barely a blip on their bottom line. Dont assume these "landlords" are a single person or this is their only property. Its just not likely.

Any restaurant in the city, $500 limit. What would you choose and why?

Can you go for beers and burgers and take the remaining as cash?
