Don't write it off so soon. A week after opening they are still working out the kinks. I always try to give a place at least 2 chances before I write it off. Helps me figure out if it is the individual(s) or the entire restaurant that's the problem. |

Anyone been to Copper Restaurant & Dessert Bar (formerly Austin's Cake Ball Kitchen) It's Restaurant Week in Austin and i was looking for places to try up North for lunch. I saw Copper is on the list for lunch options. Has anyone been there since they've reopened under the new name? |

Anyone heard anything about Blackfinn Ameripub opening up at the Domain? Is it a chain? |

What was your beef (pun intended) with the Meat Shop? Just curious. There's one in Avery Ranch that doesn't seem too bad. |

Anyone know where to find good homemade kolaches in Austin - no chains (Kolache Factory, Lone Star Kolaches, etc). Something homemade like Weikel's in La Grange or Hruska's in Ellinger. I'm getting together with family this weekend and it would love to serve these for breakfast. |

I saw The Meat House at Parmer/Avery Ranch opened. Has anyone been there yet? |

Good bakeries in NW Austin/Cedar Park I think you made my day, no my week. I checked out Chuy's Bakery this morning and was blown away. I left there with two bags of pastries. What a beautiful bakery. I'm looking forward to trying their lunch as well. |

Good bakeries in NW Austin/Cedar Park I've been to the Farmer's Market a bunch and love the various vendors and Swedish Hill, but I'm looking for a brick and mortar bakery. |

Good bakeries in NW Austin/Cedar Park Does anyone know of a good bakery in NW Austin or Cedar Park? I've not had any luck finding one. As delicious as Russell's and Upper Crust are, they are too far of a drive from my house to go to on a regular basis. |

Two more things I forgot to add in my original reply. The fresh, hot loaves of french bread that they keep near check out is one of my favorites....and all for $1.50. I love that bread with a little olive oil and salt. I have ruined many a meals by eating too much of that bread. Another great find is the seasoned hamburger patties at the meat counter. They have a couple different flavors - cowboy, poblano and cheese, pepper, etc. They are fantastic. Plus, they are huge and really a meal in itself. No need for a bun. |

I've tried the noble pig and enjoyed it. Not long ago I had the duck pastrami and it was quite a disappointment. The pastrami was very fatty. I usually enjoy duck but this sandwich did not do it for me. |

Yep, those are the ones I'm talking about. I like how they are thinner too, unlike the big brand, packaged kind. |

Hudson's on the Bend groupon 2 days left I saw they already sold over 1,000 of the groupons. Wow. It will take forever to get in. I'm going to pass this time around. |

Love "That Green Sauce." It's so good on breakfast tacos. |

Funny enough, I was also introduced to Lupe Tortilla while working at one of the Big 4 firms. I made it eight years before I threw in the towel. We never had the NRL either, although I sure wish we did. I finally went to LT today for lunch and it was good, but it left me a little underwhelmed. The beef fajitas were very good, but they weren't as amazing as I remembered them to be. I was hoping the marinade would be more flavorful on the meat, as this is what always stood out to me in the past. The meat itself looked like it was sent through a meat tenderizing machine. It looked more like meat for a chicken fried stead than it did fajita meat. The fajita meat itself may have been slightly disappointing but the huge and thin tortillas blew me away. They well exceeded my expectations. And the refried beans were also fantastic. I was also a little surprised by how cramped the tables were. We were in the area to the right of the entry. The tables were really tight and it was also hot in there. Overall I’d give the experience a C+/B-. I have such fond memories of this place that I will certainly go there again. Plus I would never count out a restaurant for less than perfect food/service/etc just days after they opened. They still need to work out the kinks. |

I stopped by there right at 11 today. The manager said if the soft opening runs smoothly over the weekend then they will officially open on Monday. Very exciting. The only downside was that I tried to make a reservation for next week and the manager said they don't take reservations. I hate when restaurants do that, makes me eat there way less often. |

I'm hearing rumors that Lupe Tortilla may have had a soft opening already. Has anyone been? I haven't called recently but I'd like to try to get in asap. I love this place! |

Pacific Star on North 183 has them. |

Live Crawfish finds and price check for 2012 Great picture! |

Live Crawfish finds and price check for 2012 I did 50 lbs over the weekend and got them from Stuffed. They were $3.75/lb. I agree with Garnerac, they were more expensive than what you get at Fiesta/HEB, but they were purged, had very few dead and were a nice sized crawfish. This was the first time we bought from Stuffed and I would definitely buy from there again. |

Live Crawfish finds and price check for 2012 I'm having my crawfish boil this weekend. We are getting our crawfish from Stuffed ($4/lb). I'll report back on how they are next week. |

Live Crawfish finds and price check for 2012 That's great to hear on Quality Seafood. I checked earlier in the week and they were $4.49/lb. I also checked Stuffed on 620 and they were $4.20/lb. |

Looking for a "Meat and Three" around the Austin area. Schobels Restaurant in New Braunfels has great home cooking. They are buffet style rather than meat + 3, but it's still delicious. Anyone else been there? |

In search of the best Cinnamon Roll in Austin I agree that Russell's and Upper Crust are the best. I haven't tried Quack's, but I'll be sure to in the near future. Russell's is heavy, but it's a true indulgence, and must indulgences are. I also love the fact that the interior is slightly undercooked. To me, that's the way a cinnamon roll should be. Glad to hear it's danish dough. If you find a good recipe please post it. |
