Vermont & Wilshire area recs...no sushi plz... Hi all - going to be around Vermont & Wilshire tonight with a few girlfriends and are looking for recommendations. Don't know what's in the area so the only parameter is no sushi...thanks for the help! |

Anyone been here yet? Looked really empty on the teppan side last night.... |

Think about Rosemary's. It'll be a bit more, but is far more with the expense than most places on the Strip. It's about 7mi off the Strip but one of the best dining experiences to be had in the area. |

Sounds lovely, have you been? I always love reading your posts.... |

Is Anything As Good As IN-N-OUT BURGER??!! [Moved from L.A. board] PHENOMENAL!! |

Hi everyone. Looking for a not too expensive (~$40pp) suggestion for Saturday night dinner in Culver City. There are quite a few behind the theatre on Washington but I don't know the name of any of them. Or the name of the theatre for that matter. I'm thinking of the block where Starbuck's is on the East tip. We're passing on Ford's Fluffing Station. Thanks! |

Lunch ideas for Hollywood/Fairfax area 2nd the Chao Krung. We should own the place by now, we order so often... |

Looking for great (yet cheaper) wine bars Mr Marcels is wine bar at the Farmers Market. Thanks for the tip about their happy hour!! |
|
|
Wine list is ok - pretty limited in terms of wine by the glass. Maybe they have a better list at dinner; it certainly doesn't anywhere near match the list at Grace. |

Those pickles are house-made? Really? Ours were floppy and tasted straight out of a jar. Certainly not as good as Bubbies. |

Yes, brunch on the weekends. We had a $50 weekday lunch there for 2 - better off heading across the street to Eat Well. Food was fine - not $50 fine though!! |

Sonoma Wine "collective" Essentially a place where smaller Sonoma "side" vineyards that don't necessarily get a lot of foot traffic are under one roof I'm REALLY looking forward to Locals - for whatever reason I'm under the impression that they mostly focus on Napa wines. #1) Is that correct & #2) if it's only Napa, is there somewhere compatible in Sonoma. Thanks again!! |

Removing Posts from "my recent posts" list in myCHOW Sometimes I respond to posts that I'm not interested enough in to keep, just have a helpful tidbit (at least I think I'm being helpful!!) to add. And of course the threads I initiate are the ones getting pushed out. |

Sonoma Wine "collective" I've found quite a few in Napa (The Bounty Hunter, Vintner's Collective, etc) but nothing in Sonoma. We're looking for someplace that is focused on smaller "boutique" producers...thanks everybody. |

Funny, we walked by that place last night and wondered if anything had changed. The last time we "dined" (using the term loosely of course) at la poobell years and years ago, the waiter who was slicing the bread was also sneezing all over the bread. And using his hand as a hankerchief. The hand he was holding the bread with. We all stopped eating and left. When they say consistency is key, I don't think that's supposed to apply to mediocrity. |

WEST restaurant- review w/ photos We seem to run into some sort of force field that prevents us from getting West of Sawtelle. Nice job on the review - gold star for honesty!! |

I second this recommendation. |

best birthday cakes in Los Angeles area? Massimos Delectables. There's also one on Abbot Kinney but I've only gone to the one on Washington Blvd. The rock the cake right!! Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeelish! Cookies are for the most part good - will let you try before buying. But the cakes...oh those cakes.... |

Next to Mortons is French 75. The crepes are devine; actually everything so far has been good. Really good. The space is gorgeous. Maybe a bit swank... http://www.culinaryadventures.com/res... There's also Gourmet 88 (Chinese) on San Fernando Rd where all the restaurants are. And Mi Piace (sp?) by the In-N-Out Burger in that same area. |

Beard Papas...coming to Sawtelle TOMORROW In all seriousness - we brought these to a Super Bowl party and adults were throwing children out of the way so they could cram in seconds and thirds. Share at your own risk!! |

Beard Papas...coming to Sawtelle TOMORROW If they have the caramel filled creampuffs, buy many and don't share them. Must go sponge drool off face... |

Removing Posts from "my recent posts" list in myCHOW How? I tried searching for instructions but, if you read my post on Site Talk, you'll know that the search function & I aren't getting along. |
|

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I just searched for "delete a post" and EVERY POSTING THAT HAS A WORD CONTAINING THE LETTER "A" in the title SHOWED UP. It's SO not me. Phew.... |
|

I don't know if this is user error so I'm posting here and not on Feedback:Report problems. When I search for items I know have been posted to Chowhound, I'm getting results where it's finding one of my search terms in a word i.e. eat. on sunset returns words that have "eat" or "on" in them (like retreat or button) but no eat. on sunset. Or eat on sunset. Or eat. I used to be able to find stuff....Help? |
|
|
Pretty sure I saw something on this place but couldn't find it when I searched. Yay? Nay? How's the patio. Thanks!! |
