Court Jester- Freehold

monday night wing special is a great deal. maybe not the ultimate wings, but good nonetheless. great for football season and i think they have a wing eating contest every year. the food is o.k. still can't understand the hoopla with el meson, just don't get it. acapulqueno's on south street had better, more authentic mexican food. so does the place across from them up a few buildings, near the new steakhouse.

IS there any Good Sushi?

just had another great time at Nobi in TR. last night was live scallop, ankymo(think i spelled it right), giant clam, oysters and much more. i think they remember us from last time. while not the best sashimi/sushi i have ever had, portions are good and alot closer to me than mahzu in freehold(equally as good, never have "fun" stuff during the week though). fish is fresh, service from waietrs adaqate, chefs are plesant and kind.

bricktown toms river good food

yes ! yes ! thats the one my wife went to as a kid. the guy in SD worked at the one on arnold ave. he did make a good sandwich but that kind of bread did stink. artisanal breads however, were simply amazing. nothing like that in this area that i know of.

bricktown toms river good food

babs, i have to agree very much with bgut about the vacinity. this goes for many of the same genres or restaurants..... where do you get good vietnamese, thai, bbq, deli, etc.... anywhere in ocean or monmouth counties.... i have yet to have a decent chinese meal, one poor vietnamese, two horrible and one ok mexican, and i can't tell you how many BAD italian meals here. sushi is good at nobi in TR and mahzu in freehold, but they are not even close to what i was used to in CA or NYC. i too grew up in a jewish household. have not had good deli for years.

Andrea Clurfeld's Review of Antoinetta's

i remember reading about trinity. http://www.chowhound.com/topics/41395... we have been a few times. beautiful restaurant. there will always be some kinks with new places but i will continue to go back hoping things will come together. it is nice not to have to drive too far for this quality of food and atmosphere.

Andrea Clurfeld [Split from Mid-Atlantic]

(Note: This post was split from the Mid-Atlantic board at: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/44393... -- The Chowhound Team).

frankly, am surprised that anyone even reads her reviews. on several occasions, she has decimated restaurants and yet they are still there. how many places have you been where you thought "what was she thinking?" for that matter, even on this board there are mixed reviews. i have been to some of the places that are supposedly great, only to be greatly disappointed. every restaurant has a bad night and should be considered again even if one or two things were slightly amiss. its different if every aspect is horrible. i have heard bad things about per se, and this is probably the greatest american chef of our time. i guess it depends on your point of view. thoughts?
