I'm very pleased that our outings do NOT include nude volleyball. |

Help: Having trouble posting responses with my iPhone Hey UnclePH. If you weren't logged in, the iPhone should have prompted you to log-in before allowing you to type a reply at all. I'm sorry to hear that didn't happen for you. I tried reproducing what you describe but am unable to. |

Thanks for posting this. I agree; Chris, Amy, Christine, and Lisa do amazing work, and are passionate about what they do. It's always nice to read that someone took notice. |

Photos now appearing one beneath the other instead of in a row? This should now be fixed. Thanks again Breadcrumbs. |

Cisco/Webex banner goes berserk .... Hi Sushi Monster, Are you saying that an ad for Cisco/Webex is taking over your browser, or that the Webex application running on your computer is going full screen and taking over your browsing experience? - Shane |
|

Hi Harters, There has not been a system change that has caused this. Other people have reported this in the past, but we haven't been able to reproduce it reliably enough to track it down. I suspect that an ad is somehow causing this. I really want to know what ads were on the page when you get logged out, which is part of why this is so hard to track down. You don't know it's happened until you visit another page. I understand that you are saying that you stay logged in until you have left for some time and come back, which is somewhat different. The only thing I can really say is that I'm a little stumped on this one for now. Hopefully a new clue will come up soon, and hopefully the problem you're seeing won't persist for you. Let me know. - Shane |

Photos now appearing one beneath the other instead of in a row? HillJ, The issue you seem to be reporting happens if you (accidentally or otherwise) zoom out on the page. Try hitting control-0 (zero) on the page you are having problems with. I believe that will take care of what you're reporting here. - Shane |

Photos now appearing one beneath the other instead of in a row? Thanks for reporting this Breadcrumbs. We'll get a fix out as soon as we can. |

Hi jen kalb, You can expand all the nested posts by clicking on the number of total replies at the top of the thread. You don't need to expand each one individually. I hope that helps with one of the issues you're reporting. - Shane |

email to Moderators@ is bouncing Hi TonyC, E-mail to moderators appears to be working now. I'm not totally surprised if it had a brief outage in the last 24 hours, but hopefully we're past that. You can try e-mailing the moderators again, but as Jacquilynne said, flagging the post with your notes is a better way to ask for edits to a specific post. |

email to Moderators@ is bouncing Thanks for this report TonyC. There have been some problems with some other websites in our group, with machines located near the mailer. I didn't realize however that our mailer was impacted. I will look into this. |

Avatar change released Tuesday, Feb 5 IE 8 makes up about 6% of our visitors. It's not insignificant and it's not an easy decision, but we had to drop support for IE 8 for a few reasons. 1. It's very outdated, and holds back a lot of development. It does not support current standards and the latest version of important code libraries do not support IE 8. As far as this change goes, I believe the only difference in IE is that the avatars appear square instead of round, which was already the case before the default avatars were changed. With little exception, the differences in IE 8 so far are largely cosmetic. |

"From Chow Partners" Feed Is Stuck Hi Melanie. We're in contact with SFGate.com, and aware of the footer being stuck and working to fix that. Thanks for helping. |

I haven't ran into this personally yet, but other people within our office have seen it. The google chrome forum seems to point to a few chrome extensions. You might try disabling extensions and see if this problem persists. |

This problem seems to be happening in Chrome on sites across the internet. Here is a discussion on this topic on Chrome's support forum. http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-topic/chrome/mac/3iqUPO8SYQc%5B1-25-true%5D We'll keep an eye on this, but it does not at all appear to be isolated to chow.com. Here are google's diagnostic pages for chow.com and chowhound.com showing no malware. |

Hi hyacinthgirl, We recognize that there is value in adding this feature, but at this point the feature is not on our roadmap which extends out for about six months. - Shane |

How to see more than 5 pages on iPhone? I wanted to make sure that anyone following this discussion saw Meredith's announcement today about the new continuous loading on mobile category pages. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/888395 |

Log In Issues - Jan 28/9 '13 - Repeatedly required to login Hi breadcrumbs, Are you still seeing this? We've had reports of this in the past, but nothing we've seen consistently or been able to pinpoint as of yet. I suspect that what you are seeing is coincidental to the changes, not directly caused by them. |

Functionality Changes Released Monday, Jan 28 foodieX2 and Melanie Wong, We just released another update. There is a slight chance that this will fix the issue you're seeing, although I'm a little surprised you are still seeing it at all. We're not able to reproduce it here. It's worth taking another look, and if you are still seeing it, please report back with your OS and browser (I know you've already done this mostly), the full url where you are seeing it, and the steps you take to reproduce it. It sounds Melanie Wong like you're seeing this only when you click on the reply count field for an updated discussion and have "#first_unread" in the url, which is what I was seeing previously? Is that correct? |

Functionality Changes Released Monday, Jan 28 We hope to release a fix for the issue that LindaWhit pointed out shortly. This will hopefully also resolve the issue you're seeing with bouncy posts. We did have to make some changes to how the page scrolls in certain situations because of hidden posts, so there may be some lingering issues to iron out, but hopefully the coming release gets us pretty close. Let us know otherwise. |

Functionality Changes Released Monday, Jan 28 If it's a discussion you've never read, it will load fully expanded. Nested replies may be hidden in that case if you have set your preferences that way. Otherwise it should look pretty much the same as what you're used to. |

Functionality Changes Released Monday, Jan 28 Thanks LindaWhit, We hope to fix the 2nd issue you reported later this week. |

Functionality Changes Released Monday, Jan 28 For now, I recommend clicking on the thread title from a category page instead of number of replies or last replies column. We'll get a fix out as soon as we can. Sorry for the inconvenience. |

Functionality Changes Released Monday, Jan 28 Hi LindaWhit, I just saw this. It seems to happen when there is a #first_unread in the URL. We're looking into it. |

is anyone else having an issue with the "back" arrow? There was once an ad which was causing something very similar on Internet Explorer. If you see this again please let me know, and try to get a screen grabs of all 4 ads on the page. |

Chowhound down evening of Jan 21 - returns giving me access to another user's profile Hi Breadcrumbs, We did have a site outage yesterday from 4:30pm to 7:40pm PST. During a site outage like that, chowhound becomes inaccessible. For chow.com pages, we use a service that caches copies of the pages throughout the day, and serves those pages if our server is not responding. So you are able to visit chow.com pages that someone else has visited recently. When this happens, the cached image of a page includes the username in the upper right-hand corner. This unfortunately creates the false appearance that you are logged in as someone else. In fact, that is not the case, and you are not reaching our servers at all in such a case as they are down. I agree with you 100% that this is disconcerting, and it's something I do want to improve. I want to assure you that you are not actually logged in as another user in this case and nobody else is logged in as you. The bottom line however, is that we take multiple steps to protect your data. We take this very seriously. We believe that your data is appropriately secured, and we are rolling out additional security measures as extra protections later this week. I should also note that the only personal data we save is your e-mail address and password. You e-mail address is never revealed to other users. Your password is never visible to anyone, including our top engineers. We can give you the opportunity to reset your password, but even we could not read your password if we wanted to. I hope this helps clarify a bit. - Shane |

Hi sr44, You can choose which column to sort by in the list of discussions, Date Started, Replies, or Last Reply. The one you're currently sorting by is underlined in red. It sounds like you have a different sort option selected on your iPad than the one you are used to on your Mac. - Shane |

pine time, Can you try logging out and back in again? Does the log out link appear in the upper right hand corner? - Shane |

Those of your experiencing this problem, I just want to check, are you single clicking to open up a discussion or double clicking? |

Hi DonaldB, You can change this is your profile. Click on your username (in the upper right hand corner or here in this discussion) then proceed to Settings>Account. - Shane |
