Looking for vegan-friendly restaurant in Long Beach or close by. Our appetizer was a barbecue pork roll (can't remember what it was called), chow fun and broccoli with beef. For dessert we had the rainbow cake. Not too thrilled with the chow fun, but loved everything else. Happy 40th in advance! |

Looking for vegan-friendly restaurant in Long Beach or close by. choctastic: We visited Au Lac for lunch on Wed around 1:30 or so. I liked it very much. Enjoyed the starters and main. The rainbow dessert was fabulous. My husband loved the dessert, too, but was not quite as enthusiastic as I was about the rest of the meal. Service was very pleasant. About $35 or so for one appetizer, 2 mains and a shared dessert including a tip. They do not serve alcohol. Place fairly filled for midweek. Thanks very much for the recommendation. Will return again. |

Looking for vegan-friendly restaurant in Long Beach or close by. Thanks again, choctastic. I looked at the menu for Au Lac. Not cheap, for sure, but it is a special occasion - our anniversary and the reviews are great. I'm not sure why we never heard about it, since it's been around for yrs, but we'll give it a try. Not too fond of Vegi Wokery, food is not cooked to order and if you order an appetizer, chances are it will arrive with your meal. However, lunches at VW are cheap and occasionally we want a restaurant meal and they are the best vegan choice around, though again not very good. In fact, incredibly mediocre. |

Looking for vegan-friendly restaurant in Long Beach or close by. Thanks, choctastic. No, it does not have to be fancy. I drove by Steamed - it does get good reports, but it looked pretty grungy, all boarded up, not appealing, but hey - it may be great. Never heard of the other two you mentioned. I'll look them up. Thanks again. |

Looking for vegan-friendly restaurant in Long Beach or close by. Looking for a vegan-friendly restaurant in Long Beach or nearby to celebrate an anniversary. We would like to go out for lunch. Not interested in Zephyr's or the Vegan Diner. Although we like Open Sesame, we have been there a million times. Prefer a healthy style restaurant that is not high on carbs like an Italian. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

Looking for Vegan friendly restaurants in Norfolk, VA and environs Thanks, Rory. I agree happycows is where I usually go for recommendations, but when I looked over the choices on happy cow; (they were meager,) and did not sound very attractive. Hoping there must be something better out there. . . |

Looking for Vegan friendly restaurants in Norfolk, VA and environs Looking for vegan-friendly restaurants in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and nearby. We'll be there for 5 wks this spring, traveling around the area, and would love to find some casual places for a vegan meal. Even a good sandwich place would be appreciated, though hoping for something more than roasted vegetables on a wholewheat roll or a veggie delite at Subway. |
