Question: Anniversary dinner in Rome - which restaurant? Elizabeth - I also bought your apps and they are equally informative!! So, thank you too! I was wondering if I could ask you a couple of other questions -- first, we booked Glass for our last night in Italy , thoughts in comparison to the others you mentioned? Secondly, have you been to La Petraia in Tuscany? http://lapetraia.com/ We are going there for the day from Florence - and I was wondering if you had any thoughts -- thanks! |

Looking for good food at a decent price in Capri and Sorrento... i have read threads about the amalfi coast - but I was most interested in good dinner spots in sorrento and capri that are reasonable - I've read that Capri can be pretty pricey. |

Looking for good food at a decent price in Capri and Sorrento... Hi! My husband and I are going to the Amalfi coast in July and we would love some suggestions for dinner and lunch places that do not cost an arm and a leg - that said we are really looking for value. Good food for the right price. Also - do I need reservations for July and if so how far in advance do I need to make these reservations. thanks! |

Question: Anniversary dinner in Rome - which restaurant? Thanks for your input -- and your right. I actually picked these restaurants by reading blogs and chowhound posts - but I really wanted some opinions about which one of these wow'ed people. I posted a couple of days ago explaining that we were looking for a restaurant that had creative flavors and presentation but was still more "This is delicious" than "This is beautiful" - unfortunately no one replied to that post - so I tried something more specific. Your descriptions of "fancy" vs. "youthful and casual" help - I think we are more into the latter - but at the end of the day we want great food - so given your choice of these or anything that was 100E or less a person what would you pick if the focus was great and exciting food? thanks again. |

Special Occasion in Rome and perhaps another great experiance in Italy (Venice, Sorrento, Capri.... Hello Chowhound! My husband and I are going to Italy for our anniversary and I would love to ask your opinions on three things... 1. What restaurant would you go to for our anniversary dinner - we are thinking a degustation menu that is 90E or less - we would love romance - but really this is about food - great, inventive flavors - beautiful plating - the gourmet experience - the kind of meal that requires a lot of - yum sounds and wows. 2. We will also be in Venice, Sorrento, Florence, and Capri - and we would love one more night of gourmet experience in any one of these cities - similar price - suggestions? 3. Finally, any great cheap eats in Rome, Venice, Florence or Sorrento would also be greatly appriciated! Thank you in advance for your advice! |
