Dinner suggestions for Oceanside?

333 Pacific - Cohen restaurant, but good solid food and great prices on vodka cocktails in the bar ($7)

New - try http://www.flyingpigpubkitchen.com/ they are still working out the kinks, but nice vibe, nice people, good food and fun beer and wine list. Not just pork.

Best Farmer's Market in San Diego?

We bounce around to a # of them.. best for produce selection for us is Vista. Variety beyond produce Little Italy or Hillcrest. Not a farmers market per se, but the Oceanside's Sunset Market on Thursday nights is great for prepared food!

Restaurants in St. Thomas

Over the years I have spent a fair amount of time in St Thomas for work. At this point skip Agave Terrace, but DO NOT MISS Craig & Sallys. Tucked away a bit, but fantastic food, great great wine list and Craig is a blast. Get the Eggplant Cheesescake as an app. Hook Line and Sinker is good for more casual. You may also want to try Randy's -- good choice for lunch. Grateful Deli in Redhook is also a good lunch choice. And if you want a good burger - any time from lunch until late - Shipwreck is divey, but great burgers.

Calling candy makers..marshmallow questions!

I use this - and they rock:
Homemade Marshmallows

As for chocolate. I use 12oz of chips and 1tbl spoon of Crisco - melt over double boiler. Once smooth reduce water to slow simmer to let chocolate cool some. Then I stick one marshmallow with a fork, dip the top 1/2 - set to cool. We sometimes add broken pieces of candy canes sprinkled over the chocolate or nuts... delicious!

For Fish - please try Pelly's Fish Market & Cafe in Carlsbad
7110 Avenida Encinas # 101
Carlsbad, CA 92011
(760) 431-8454
Fun casual place - best fish to purchase to take home and cook and wonderful simple fresh grilled fish, fish tacos, fish sandwhich's, chowder, etc. By far the best fish counter in town.
