Sriracha
Sure did - it's called Clem's (http://www.clemsfire.com/clemsmenus.html).
It's located here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1663+S+Atherton+St,+State+College,+PA+16801&sll=40.75506,-78.013916&sspn=0.377099,0.617294&ie=UTF8&z=16&iwloc=A
Enjoy!
Sriracha
I think part of the reason BBQ in NYC is so lackluster is that building codes prevent chefs in the city from smoking the meat the way they do down South. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I highly doubt Manhattan "pit masters" are smoking pork butts for 36 hours like the places I grew up with in Alabama.
That said, I've had excellent 'Q in the North, specifically at a roadside shack in State College, PA (can't think of what it's called). I think it's just NYC that has the problem producing quality BBQ.
Diner on the UES
Can anyone recommend a good diner on the Upper East Side. I want to meet some friends for lunch and they're staying near New York Presbyterian. Thanks in advance!
Le Bernardin Ultimately a Disappointment
My family and I had a very similar experience - good food, but not memorable. The atmosphere was very stuffy and our server was actually fairly snotty. The next night we ate at an inexpensive, family run Indian restaurant on Lex and the experinece was 100 times better than Le Bernadin...
Best Paella in Manhattan?
I was a huge fan of Bobby Flay's Paella at Bolo, but the restaurant has closed for relocation. Any recommendations on where I can find the best Paella in Manhattan?
"Dining Clubs" in NYC
Can anyone recommend any good 'dining clubs' in the city? I'm thinking of groups that get together to try different restaurants and such.
Thanks in advance for your recommendations.
Bolo and Bobby Flay
Thanks for the feedback - I ended up taking my parents there and we enjoyed it. The Paella was excellent - I'll probably go back just for that.
Bolo and Bobby Flay
Am thinking of taking my parents there while they're in town. I've never been there, any thoughts?
Wine Bar on UES
Thanks for the recommendation. Ending up going to Uva and doing dinner. Had a veal and eggplant dish, which was pretty good -- the atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you again.
If you had to choose between....
Take it for what it's worth, but I ate at Gotham a while back and the only thing memorable about the food was the presentation.
sushi samba park
I'm a big fan of the Pacific Roll and they have this appetizer with Peruvian corn that's I enjoy.
Blue Ribbon Sushi for Husband's Birthday?
Sushi Yasuda is an amazing experience, especially when seated at the sushi bar - highly recommended above Blue Ribbon Sushi
Best Bagel in Murray Hill Area
Might be a little far south for you, but I've heard good things about The Bagelry (3rd ave. near 30th). For a year and a half, I've gone to a famiily run place on third b/c 33rd and 33nd. Don't know the name, but it has a big "O" sign on it. Something keeps me going back for the same plain bagel and cream cheese.....
Wine Bar on UES
Any reccomendations for a decent, not crowded wine bar on the upper east side?
I'm taking out a friend of a friend that I don't know very well and want to avoid the usual suspects on the UES bar scene.
Thanks in advance!
Sunday Brunch?
I live in the east 30s and Banc Cafe (3rd ave. around 31st or so) has a nice brunch, for a local place that's nice and fun.
If you're willing to dive, try The Sunburnt Cow on the lower east side. It's an aussi bar that'll set you back $15-$20 depending on what you order, with all you can drink mimosas and bloody mary's. A young, mixed crowd and pretty small, but certainly some neighborhood flavor.
