Help! Looking for Teen Friendly Rest to Celebrate Bday on July 4

Having your birthday on the 4th of July is a mixed blessing! Looking for a teen friendly restaurant for my 15 y/o and her 2 girlfriends. Italian preferably, but at this point we are open to almost anything. Affordable, $8-15.00 entree range? Brooklyn/Manhattan...anywhere!
Thanks!

Chelsea recs for a Parisian Friend

Hi Hounds,
Looking for a rec for my Parisian friend. She is interested in a trendy place serving great dinners which she can write a review for her magazine back in Paris. The best part is I get to be her guest! Nothing too pretentious, but a great NYC experience. Any thoughts?
PS I have not been on the site for quite a while, since I lost my job way back when,,, but I knew to ask the experts! Thnx!

Christmas Eve dinner in the hood?

Hi Hounds,
We are looking for a festive, preferably Italian restaurant, rustic food for husband & 12 year old. This year we are looking for something not exactly upscale, as I was laid off last month, but rather a place that is celebrating good cheer, something we could all use this year!
Thanks & Happy Holidays!

Hello Hounds,
I am looking for a recommendation for Christmas Eve dinner with husband & tween. This year we are looking for something reasonable, given my recent layoff. Italian, festive to lift our spirits! We like downtown, but have a car, so can travel.
Thanks & Happy Holidays to All!

New Pizza, Carroll Gardens

word of advice: check your bill. the new owners at handleys have developed a bad habit of raising the prices when charging you, but have negelcted to change the menu prices. the waitress was apologetic, the owner could care less. i for one, will never go back, nor the pizza joint nxt door. will walk futher down court street to that other coal oven joint.

Miranda

Driving around Williamsburg last night and stumbled on Miranda. very nice spot, nice, caring waitstaff and attentive owner. Most dishes are offerd as half plate option, which is a great alternative. Spanish-Itatalian, nice twist.

Looking for some Polish Home Cooking

Raymonds on Bedford, I believe in Greenpoint. Old world, plastic tablecloths, Christmas decorations left up. The food is authentic, old timers go there, very reasonable.

What ever happened to Whole Foods?

What ever happened to Whole Foods? They were slated for Spring of 2008, which clearly is not happening. I know about the brown field issue, but is this ever going to happen?
