Jax -excellent restaurant

Unfortunately, in my experience, exceptional restaurants in Jacksonville are very few and far between. I second the recommendation for Orsay and would also recommend Black Sheep. But, by and large, the pickings in Jacksonville are slim indeed.

Last minute solo trip question

I'm going to Paris in two weeks, a trip I just booked yesterday. As a solo diner, do I necessarily need reservations at frequently recommended restaurants, i.e. Pirouette, 6 Paul Bert, Guy Savoy, Le Cinq, L'Ambroisie, etc. In the states, I often go to top restaurants in major cities without a reservation and order off the regular menu at the bar. Just wondering if I could do the same in Paris! Thanks in advance!

Dinner near the Vatican

We are going to Rome for the first time in October and have bought tickets for the 7 p.m. tour of the Vatican Museums. Any recommendations for a good dinner location near the Vatican when we're done with the Museums?

Child Friendly NYC Restaurants

We're coming to NYC in April and are looking for good restaurants that would also be acceptable for our 11 and 7 year old children. Our children have been to good restaurants before and are generally very well behaved. My wife and I enjoy fine dining and even though we know we won't be able to go to Le Bernardin (darn!) we would love some input about really good restaurants that would be okay with 2 well behaved children. Thanks!
