South St Burgers Beacon HIll

I haven't been to the Beacon Hill location, but the one at crossiron seems a bit better from what i can tell.

The one at crossiron is quicker, probably because they've gotten into the groove of things by now. And theres always a full dinning room.

Many of my friends who have eaten there had no complaints, and like the burgers very much.
I as well have had no bad experiences at that location.
And I must say, this is way better than McD's. =)

SAIT-Bakery items

I went there on a open house last year.
The Marketplace was a highlight from the tour.
In the windows were the most amazing croquembroques Ive seen in Calgary
(much more impressive that that of cruffs!).
And they were very traditional as well.
The market place is very impressive since it is of course the students who make the products.

I love the french culture! So french food has become an addiction for me.
Any places to recommend?
I always go to l'├ępicerie, manuel latruwe, and yann...
but they're just bakeries/ lunch spots.

Oh, ... and not too pricey...?

I was very much a lunchables girl when i was in grade school. cheese, ham & crakers... pizza.. the hotdogs! not to mention the kit kat at the end!!!

but if not lunchables, my moms brown bagged lunches came in the form of McDonalds Happy meals!
Grade school, those were the years.

Valentine's Day in Calgary

WURST is the epitome of fun in a nice restaurant.
the restaurant is beautiful, theres trees going through the dining area and they're lit with twinkle lights. And downstairs after dinner you can go in joy they're club scene.

When I went there last, i didn't enjoy the food so much, but the experience is great. They had german musicians circling the place in traditional german outfits. The place had a great atmosphere.

You can get fresh pretzels with the meal... that was my fav part of the meal.

Torontonian visiting Calgary....reccomendations, please?

If you like French food/bakeries, you'd really enjoy Manuel Latruwe, Yann Haute Patisserie, and l'epicerie.

They're very affordable places! And l'epicerie and yann both really have a great French atmosphere since they're staff speak French. Yann I think has the best macarons in Calgary.

For dinner I think you would enjoy Vintage, the atmosphere is amazing, a very beautiful restaurant and they have a really good lobster Mac and cheese.
You can also check out the living room. It's pretty pricey, but if you wanted to go
all out, this is the place to be. They have a menu option:6 courses. And the chef pretty much improvs the menu for you on the spot. I recommend this. It was delicious.

If you like vegetarian, you'll like the coup!

Hope this helps!!!
