1 week in vegas (researched)

All of the past reviews have been so helpful. Maybe caused a little extra time in front of the monitor looking at menus but I was very happy to spend the time. Ill be having my Honeymoon in Vegas this summer and was hoping to get some honest and if needed brutal feed back on my loose meal plan. Only one show booked so far but we plan on having one every night. Maybe that will force us to eat earlier then planned.

OK so here we go!

Monday: Fly in from Portland. Check in at the MGM, Javier's then to Love @ mirage

Tuesday: LoS, DOCG

Wednesday: Bouchon, Raku

Thursday: Milos, Nob Hill

Friday: Open, Sage for early evening menu.

Saturday: Burger Bar, Twist

Sunday: Open, Charlie Palmers

Monday: Fly home.

I'm a huge beer fan I spend most of my free time looking for new beers and writing notes on them as I enjoy them. So ill have to fit in Public house a few times to see if it is as good as it reads.

My soon to be wife is not even a little bit of a foodie. So that will maybe have some of these dropped to accommodate her In-n-out burger cravings. (none in Oregon) I'm also hoping to keep all dinners under $200 with drinks.

I'm also looking for a complete over the top gourmet burger. Quinn's off the menu burger in Seattle is my perfect example of what I am looking for.

Thank you so much for any and all responses.

Kevin

Piroshky is on my short list of eateries in the market. I'm going to fully accept the touristy trip and do everything I can even if it is extremely touristy.

Thank you for your reply. I will be changing my sushi restaurant and looking into the Ducks tour. Ya that is the right mall... basically making the trip there for the Burberry outlet. :( That is her only request of the trip and I cant let her down there.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm sure I am saying a lot of things that will peg me as a tourist.

Vancouver Hound's first trip to Portland -- help a hungry elf out?

I just want to throw this in. Pok Pok is well worth the wait. But to not go for the dinner menu is a serious shame. What I think I do is out smart the very smart Portlandites is I go at 430 and sit and have drinks until 5 when dinner is served. This way I have a good seat and Am ready to order as soon as they officially make it Dinner time. If you ask they will seat you with both menus. Just sit and watch the crowd and enjoy some of there very good drinking Vinegars.

Seattle Trip.. End of April

Hi there people of the chow. Ive been stalking some of you for a few weeks now in preparation for my upcoming trip. Id like to say that from all of the websites that I have come across this has been the most enlightening on the subject of what I want to know. And that is Good Eats. I feel like I wont be able to give the Emerald City its due with only being able to be up there for 3 nights. If anyone could lend me your expertise and most importantly your criticisms of my choices id be so very much in your debt.

A little about us... Middle aged couple who lives around the outskirts of Portland. What we really enjoy is simple food where the food stands up on its own. (Yes that old line) Would really appreciate not going to any pretentious restaurants, If I feel the need to have an uppity waiter have his nose in the air ill go to one of the many Portland area restaurants who strive for this . For food dislikes the only thing we both agree on not enjoying are Oysters. Also my wife is someone who even though sometimes will be adventurous with myself on trying new and different things is what I like to refer to as being very Vanilla in her foods.

22-23rd Staying in a cabin on Mt. Rainier.

Staying at the Hotel Monaco 24th- 27th

24th: Driving up to the outlet mall and any other mall we find so she can basically shop til she drops. :)
Lunch : Paseo
Dinner: Quinns
Drinks / Dessert: Tentative Spur. This is very open largely based on the extra drive time this day.

25th: Doing Pikes place.. Considering the Underground Tour / Or maybe a walking eating tour.
Coffee: Pikes maybe that Starbucks but as the list goes its on the bottom.
Breakfast: Pikes
Lunch Pikes. Thinking maybe Steelhead or something as simple as the mini eateries.
Dinner: We want some very good sushi. Wasabi's menu looks nice, but is Shiros the place to go? Would love some leads on this dinner. Is there another sushi restaurant Ive missed in my searches?
Drinks / Dessert: Open

26th: Space Needle / Music Museum / Open for wondering around the areas of our meals.
Coffee: Victorla
Breakfast: Cafe Besula
Lunch: The Coterie Room
Dinner: Spinasse
Drinks / Dessert: Open

27th
Coffee: Somewhere very close to the Hotel
Checking out then heading to Salumi for food and the dreaded I5 South for hours.

As you can see we're really lacking in the after dinner / drinks department. Would love to be able to walk back to the hotel but a cab for sure isn't out of the question.

Thank you to anyone who can give me any hindsight into what id be missing with the choices Ive made thus far.

From a Rookie Chowhounder who will be around for along time. Thanks.
