Bleach does indeed pollute groundwater.

Are you a Label snob when it comes to cookware??

I care about functionality and quality, not about brands.
I research a lot before buying expensive kitchen appliances, and buy the ones that best suit what I intend them for.

With little kitchen utensils, I check material, functionality and design.
No plastics to be used with heat, no teflon pots, etc. I like beautiful looking kitchen utensils.
Because they are cheap, I don't bother much about how long they will last.

I couldn't care less about brands.

Aluminum exposed on the rims of tri-ply cookware

Aluminium residue in the body has been linked to some serious illnesses including cancer and alzheimer.
Many health experts advise against using any kind of aluminium cooking utensils.

Some say there is no connection between aluminium and cancer. However, many also say that there is no connection between nutrition and cancer, which is false. For that same reason many advise against using deodorants which contain aluminium, as substannces get absorbed into the body through the skin as well.

Some agree, some disagree.
Why take the chance ?

My wood cutting board smells. HELP!

Clean the board with baking soda.

Everyone should keep the use of bleach to a minimum. It is very toxic to people and to the environment, and it pollutes groundwater.

Voltage converter/transformer for a 110 volt high power blender such as blendtec or vitamix.

Thanks for your suggestions.
It seems like a converter that would work for a high power blender is going to be quite expensive.

Voltage converter/transformer for a 110 volt high power blender such as blendtec or vitamix.

Hi,

Could you recommend a good transformer/converter for a 110v blendtec, and a place to buy it from ?

Buying a 220 volt outside the USA is not an option, as it costs more than double the price.

Thanks
