I'll take the Katana in mind ... personnallly i agree with cowboyardee , that s my over all personnality and i like to have a variety of knives to use and admire when at homw and work and it just helps to make the work go buy faster when your useing a piece of equitment that makes a big stupid grin spread across your face |

Like the Info was very inlightening but i personally love reading about knives so would have had no problem with reading your 500 word explanation but i geuss what i was reallytrying to find out is why do people fight so heavy for a certain style and what was the first thing that gave them the love for that specific blade. For me it was one part hereitage "german " and a gift of a vintage knife of giant lump of steel seen above |

I have had a long running fight/disscussion with a fellow colleague over many months over japanese steel over German steel . Personally i have fallin in love with the apereance and look of japanese steel of resent but am still a strong hold out for the weight and feel of german knives . My freind is always in doubt and concerned when i deside to buy a new piece of german cutlery ,i find that i love the resilience of the steel and the substance allows me to better use the knife in question . this is not a question of which is best in mu mind because i enjoy collecting a number of knives but i wonder why people have to have a solid answer, so i put it to a democratic vote by the people and ask what steel do you fight for !? |
