"Just eat it, you'll like it"

I hate juice (and I can't eat citrus fruit...does horrible things to my stomach) and yet people all the time ask if I would like some. I usually say no, thanks. Then follow up if needed that "it makes my stomach do horrible things". It usually shuts them up. But I am very consistent with my hatred and not eating these things. You will never see me downing a glass of OJ.

Looking for solid patisserie (birthday cake) between Nanaimo & Parksville

You may want to call up to French Creek Bakery. I've had their pastries there while sailing through the area and they are very tasty but I have no idea if they do cakes.

Please suggest a wedding gift

Great gift but a vast majority of 20 something's wouldn't know how to use it nor would they have storage for it if they lived in an apt. Might as well just buy a nice crock pot.

A New Orleans native visits Seattle for the first time

Look into Revel for Korean, Paseo for sandwiches and Book Bindery for dressy in addition to a +1 to everything kaleo said.

15 during rush hour won't get you many blocks much less into another neighborhood so plan accordingly.

Mother's Day 2014

May I suggest going for dinner rather than brunch? Even somewhere like Daniels on Lake Union is much more enjoyable after the brunch hordes leave.

Price Comparison: WF v PCC (Seattle)

For those of us who live anywhere other than Capitol Hill/Madrona area, Central Coop is really difficult to get to on a normal day. Good suggestion though if you're close.

What do you consider super high end? Bristol Farms-esque?

downtown Seattle

Parking at the hotel is $20 a day also. I'd stick with the cabs unless you can get a really steal of a deal on a car.

downtown Seattle

We go to Buckleys to eat a burger and watch a game. Decent/good bar type food.

Tini Bigs is decent for a cocktail.

We live in Queen Anne. I love Met Mart. I honestly forgot about them now that they're only on Mercer. My only issue with them is I never seem to be able to leave without buying crab and artichoke dip. Yum yum

Price Comparison: WF v PCC (Seattle)

The 365 brand is really what sealed the deal for the WF win in my book. I went to both yesterday and PCC really did have less of a selection of mainstream items that our family eats (toddler approved "normal" bread, breakfast bars etc). After my little visit to both stores though I'm totally freaked out about pork now. How does QFC sell it for $4.99 and it's $12.99 (and humane of course) at Whole Foods?!?

Price Comparison: WF v PCC (Seattle)

Looking to see if anyone has looked into whether PCC is any cheaper for in season produce and meat/dairy than Whole Foods. We shop at Trader Joes for a lot of things (not meat or produce though) and our neighborhood Safeway is abysmal. I need a new grocery store!

Family friendly downtown?

Serious pie wouldn't be the best choice for a 2 year old. Seating is hard.

Whole Foods for takeout lunch one day would be yummy.

Those weird things you eat when you are in your kitchen

Cold Thai leftovers

Spoonfuls of jam straight up

Cold baked beans

Cold hot dogs +1 if it's got cheese in the middle

Cubed plain virgin tofu (unmolested)

What's Up With So Few Tacoma Mentions? No Chow There?

The Poodle Dog is an institution...as like most of them it's probably not the best but I have some fond memories of eating there with my dad and Grandpa growing up.

As for Tacoma...um...yeah. There's a good sushi place downtown (Two Koi) and Galanga on Broadway is good Thai. There's some newer places up on 6th Ave and I've always had a good meal at Primo. Granted I haven't lived down there since leaving for college but my parents aren't complaining when they go out...where ever that is :)

Pizza By The Slice - Ats'a Nice!

I concur. We've been there twice and both times I felt like the pizzas just needed something "more". Probably cheese. I like cheese. Their arugula/prosciutto salad is rather tasty though...

Can you still get slices at Pag's on the Ave?

Suggestions on slow cooker/rice cooker combo

Rice cooker bit the dust last week. Would like a slow cooker/crockpot that combines with rice cooker. I've read some reviews for various models on Amazon but does anyone have some real experience with this type of unit?

Foods you wish the big 'fast-food' drive-through would offer.

Jimmy Johns drive thru. Or some good sub sandwich drive thru.

Delivery near Childrens' Hospital?

http://www.seattlechildrens.org/visit...

The only issue with delivery is the delivery person isn't going to make it past the front desk, so the recipient needs to be fully aware it's coming and meet them in the lobby.

Organic, delicious and Paleo-friendly

Homegrown on Queen Anne is organic. There is also one in Fremont. They have sandwiches and stuff.

Seafood restaurant with bar near Four Points by Sheraton.

Chandlers, Dukes or McCormick & Schmicks would all fit the bill. They're on the other side of Aurora on Lake Union.

Anyone try the new Ethan Stowell place in Tangletown this weekend? Looks like it opened Friday (9/27). We have reservations there in 2 weeks when a friend is in town. Love to hear some feedback.

Queen Anne rumors?

Don't forget Macrina.

I've never understood the bank thing. All the ones on the hill I pass never have anyone in them. Such huge overhead.

Queen Anne rumors?

I really wish the Safeway would do something about their selection. If they tried they could really fill a niche up here. I don't think they would ever get to the salad bar level that Whole Foods is but they could come close. Their meat selection also is very subpar. We won't even touch on their check-out lines.

I really feel like grocery stores need to cater to the neighborhoods they are in. QFC in the Village has done this in an extent with the larger offering of Kosher/Jewish items. You see this in stores that have larger Mexican aisles/Asian offerings. Our Safeway doesn't even have a bakery on site!
