Andale Taqueria y Mercado

I've been there a few times over the past few months. Love their tacos! So so good. I really dig their carne asada tacos or slow roasted pork shoulder tacos.

I don't see goat tacos on their menu:

Best chili in the Twin Cities?

The Northeast Bulldog doesn't put beans in their Texas Chili.

Spicy Texas Chili "Bean free chili with beef brisket, cilantro crème fraiche and queso fresco – served with grilled cornbread."

I had their chili a few months ago. No beans. but big chunks of brisket. Seemed more like just chunks of brisket with a spicy sauce than chili, but I'm no connoisseur of texas chili.

Solo diner, near UMN or downtown

Be sure to get a cream-filled brioche at the Salty Tart. Yum!

I was curious about this "top 5" also and found this:

I dig Brasa, but I would recommend the slow roasted pork or pulled chicken (over their sandwiches) along with some of their sides, but their sandwiches are great.

However, as ChillyDog suggests, if you're seriously looking for fine dining for all your meals I'd skip Brasa.

Non State Fair Cheese Curds

The cheese curds at the Red Stag Supper Club look very similar to the state fair cheese curds:

Cupcake and Mason Jar In Eagan

I went to Cupcake & Mason Jar for lunch recently.
My lunch partner had the chicken&bbq sauce pizza and really enjoyed it. Nothing really jumped out at me on the lunch menu so I had a tuna melt which was good, but a little overpriced ( I felt many of the items were a little overpriced ). The side of french fries tasted great though. Service was very attentive and friendly when I was there.

They had nice selection of beers on tap at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, I had to go back to work after lunch so I could not enjoy one of the adult beverages.

I didn't try any cupcakes. I'm much more of a donut fan. I don't get the whole cupcake thing.

Easygoing First Date Places?

I love places like Sea Salt, but I definitely wouldn't plan getting food there on a first date because the lines can get insanely long during their busy hours. If you're just thinking ice cream and/or beer/wine which does not have the long lines then those venues would be much more appealing.

Easygoing First Date Places?

Toast Wine bar in the north loop is a good first date place. Typically easy to find metered street parking very close by.

Looking for delicious, inexpensive food within a 1-2 mile radius of Surdyks

The ramen at Zen Box ranges from $11 to $12.50. Not expensive relatively. And is only about 1.2 miles from surdyks.

Although if one lived near Surdyks and was hungry for ramen they should just walk across the street to Masu.

craving a good burger in NE Mpls (Syrdyk's area)

I love the Northeast Bulldog for burgers. All their burgers are great, but I love the Chimay Burger. "Chimay beer cheese, Chimay beer mayo, red onion, romaine on a Brioche bun." Yum!!

They also have great tater tots and excellent bloody marys and an awesome beer list.

Options for a birthday party venue in NE Minneapolis

The additional people won't be joining them until after the pedal pub. Although I would like to see 30 inebriated people balance on a pedal pub.

Agreed, Suzi's would be the perfect venue for the gathering.

Brunch in Burnsville?

Jensen's cafe is pretty good. It appears toddler/baby friendly. Be forewarned, there can be a wait on the weekends.

Post tap-room tour dinner recommendation

For a post taproom tour dinner, I'd recommend Stanley's which is close by. The food is great and approachable for the inlaw's, although I'm not sure about the noise level. It has a great beer list also - not that you need one after the tap room hopping.

is origami still number one for sushi??

Yes, Origami is still the best place in town for sushi.

Although I'd be interested in hearing who the top contender is.

A Quest for Burger Greatness

I would recommend Low Brow ( 4244 Nicollet Ave) - the Highbrow burger - grass field MN beef with melted brie, carmelized onions, field greens, roasted garlic aioli. Yum!! The buns are delicious too.

/ Glad to hear you liked the NE Bulldog's burgers!

Thai Chicken Pizza

Pizza Luce has this:

Thai Pizza
A fresh and delicious pizza topped with red onion, snow peas, carrot, fresh jalapeño, peanuts, mozzarella and Thai greens (shredded basil, cilantro and lettuce tossed in our Thai sauce). Finished with your choice of chicken or tofu.

Not my cup of tea, but maybe you'll dig it.
