What's your favorite of the Chipotle-way style fast-food-y pizza joists in town: 800 Degrees, or Blaze Pizza, or Pielogy, or Pizza Rev, or Ugly Pizza Co., there may be a few others ????????????????????

I think I read this wrong as if you were a fireifighter: "I walked into a Blaze and walked out. It was very unappealing to look at and I didn't like the vibe at all. It seemed like a cheap imitation of 800 degrees. I do really like 800 degrees, though."

What are best to make omlettes- nonstick or regular? Is teflon coatings hazardous to health? I read the "swiss/diamond" pan is still teflon. Also people in the house use metal utensil forks on the pan. Does this completely damage nonsticks?

What restaurant do you really really really miss that is now closed ?????

in Westwood/UCLA area, there was a sushi bar (conveyer belt) on the "2nd floor" near entrance to UCLA, and another near Denny's which had good service.

BTW, why do you guys think these places close? Financial or other reason? Madame Wu's owner said business was good for 1st 10 years then slowed.

Does anyone else hate Bay Cities (venice)?

There is an old post about how great this is so I think I need a counter-post.
I ate there before 1990 &even then it wasn't great. Was crowded (inside& outside), and building looks ugly (inside& outside).
The 2 negative posts described this correctly, I think. The "bread" they are talking about, is not great, like Subway. Someone said machine made.
To answer that person's post, there is a lot better stuff. (both quantity& quality) It would have to be really extraordinary to make it worth the wait& decor.

followed chowhound recommendations for kobe style beef (around $100US)& tempura (value)& they weren't good.
Sometimes the hotel gets commission for recommendations& the concierge probably doesn't eat at these hi end restaurants.

You said you're doing business there; you can ask people living there where to eat.
