King & I in Bridgeport and Fairfield aren't bad, but I generally prefer Taste of Thai in Milford

I concur with Casa Villa (the new location) and tacos meixo (depending on how large of a group you are talking). Up county I also like El Coyote in Newtown

May be too far for you and definitely not a fancy meal, but I adore breakfast and brunch at Kings in Newtown.

I popped in there for the first time the other day and was a little turned off since it seemed a bit dirty and lots of items were premade and on a steam table....is the food really good?

not sure where you are located, but Patel Brothers in Norwalk will have it. Also a couple of Indian markets on Fairfield ave in Bridgeports that should have it, though they are smaller than Patel.
Cooked whole turkey for Thanksgiving - Fairfield county
Know anywhere for a good, cooked whole bird? Both Whole Foods and Fairway will have them but don't know if they are any good. Before anyone says it, yes, I know how easy it would be to make my own - just not enough oven space to cook all the sides as well as the turkey.
Why Are There No Great Restaurants In Fairfield County?
The Red Barn couldn't be further from my idea of a fine dining restaurant/tasting menu type place, so the fact that it shut it's doors (to me at least) would have no prediction on the success of a fine dining restaurant.

I've gotta say - I tried BarTaco in Portchester and was not a fan at all. I adore Barcelona and thought I would be making many trips over the border for their new venture, but the tacos were just "meh" with extremely skimpy filling to tortilla ratio.

love them both, but they are completely different. Bodega is tasty but not sure I'd classify it as unusual. Actually, maybe the price they charge for such a small pour in their drinks can be considered unusual...

Brunch is weekends only. They have their usual excellent choices (arepas, empanadas, stewed meats) plus breakfasty-things like stuffed French toast

Try Valencia Luncheria in Norwalk - Venezuelan Beach food. Good anytime but particularly good brunch menu. There's also great non traditional Middle eastern at Safita in Southport, right on the Westport/Fairfield border.
Shake Shack Nutritional Info?
I know it's a late reply but Shake Shack posts their nutritional info, and a single cheeseburger is listed at 430 calories. Much better than the estimated 730!
