@ellabee- Thanks so much!! I really thinks its unique and one of a kind piece. I plan to make au gratin potatoes in the lid while using the base for something else.

@mojave- Its cast iron... I don't think its vintage either. I believe its maybe from the late 90's or early 2000's but I can't tell for sure. Also your right it could be from another country... that would make a lot of sense. I haven't seen any of these before.

I recently bought a Le Creuset oval multi function pan. I got it off ebay and was able to get a great deal. I am curious if anyone knows what this pan is actually called and what color it is? The color is similar to ocean with blue hues vs the green hues. It almost looks like Marseille mixed with ocean. Under the handle its listed 4.25 quart (#27). Any help would be much appriciated.

Does anyone know what will happen to Linen and Ocean? I have been told that WS has discontinued both colors. Will they show up at other locations since they have been discontinued by WS? I made a phone call to LC and they were very unsure. The woman said she wasn't sure that it looked like WS only had a timed time exclusive on those colors.

First off let me say, great job on getting those pans 40% off!!! I personally don't see why you can't use the brasier as an au gratin pan. However since you got it at such a great deal I would keep it. I am sure some type of braised meats would go well with a nice au gratin. What color did you get in the au gratin?

Which colors were discontinued for 2012? Any new colors for 2012??
