You seem to be pretty knowledgeable when it comes to wine. Recently I heard about a "green" wine. It was Verdi something. Ever hear or taste?
Pittsburgh - Recommendations needed for Biz
Oh yes, don't miss Lidia's in the Strip District. Not too far of a walk. On Sunday they offer something called the Sunday Sauce. They have great $25 bottles of wine too!

Ate at Ciao Baby in Market Square and was pleasantly surprised. In that area is also Pirmante Brothers made famous for the Pittsburgh Sandwich (topped with fries). More upscale is Palamino. I like the sports bars near the ball parks including the new one opened by Jerome Bettis called 36 (I think)
Virginia Wines
Ok, so maybe excellent was too much of a blanket statement, but I must say that for the east coast these wines are really doing well. Pehaps the most enjoyable Cab Franc I have EVER had was at Rappahannock Winery in the north.
DUBLIN IN SEPTEMBER
One of my favorites for pub fare is Foley's. The fish and chips are superb! Friendly bartenders who don't mind talking to tourists! Located near St. Stephen's Green at the corner of Merrion Row / Merrion Street Upper. I am also very fond of The Brazen Head, the oldest pub in Ireland. They have the BEST Guiness stew. Don't miss this place for lunch when you are visiting St. Patrick's Cathedral.

I see a great interest in Reislings and Gewürztraminer these days. The have become my favorites in contrast to the oakier chards. These are a bit less austere with the Gewurz having a bit of a "spicy" aroma. But I do agree with Chicago Mike. Make sure YOU like it. My opinion is that if you like it...it's a good wine...for you.

I am adding this message to start conversation about the excellent wines now being produced in Virginia. If you have a favorite, or have traveled the Virginia Wine Trail, feel free to post here.
Weight Watchers Recipes - the good, the bad and the...
Hi, new here. I also would like to see more recipes. Here is a quick one that I tried this morning. As autumn nears I know that I am going to miss the taste of pumpkin, cinnamon and spices. Mix one container of WW vanilla yougurt with one tbs. of Dickinson's Country Pumpkin Butter (no butter in it). Makes a wonderful creamy pumpkin parfait. 2 points
