Great breakfast near New York Palace

Thanks to everyone who suggested locations -- all were very helpful , from the places which were tried and tested, those which were a little further away, and those which simply looked inviting. I appreciate you all taking the time to offer your opinions.

I did try Blue Fin, and felt that the general standard of food and service had slipped since my last visit. Nougatine was excellent, as was Brasserie and the National.

Thanks Chowhounders.

Paris, Easter Monday, late night food in the 11th

Dear Chowhounders,

We're arriving in Paris on the evening of Easter Monday at around 10:30pm. We're staying on Rue Moreau, in the 11th. between metros Bastille and Ledru Rollin. Do any of you know this area well? We were hoping to have a good bistro meal and wine somewhere nearby. But anywhere serving decent food late on an Easter Monday would be appreciated.

I considered A la biche au bois -- would this be the best choice?

Regards

D.

Great breakfast near New York Palace

Dear Chowhounders,

I'm staying at the New York Palace next week. When visiting New York, I've always been based near Times Square and gravitated towards Blue Fin for breakfast. It's always been a pleasure -- cappucino, eggs benedict or huevos rancheros -- elegant with quite a sedate atmosphere.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a great breakfast nearer to the Palace, which is comparable to (or better) than the food/service/atmosphere of Blue Fin.

Happy to pay for quality -- so no real budget.

Thanks for your help.

Three Michelin Starred Lunch? Eleven Madison Park?

Thanks to everyone who replied. I managed to reserve a table for lunch at Eleven Madison Park. I'll let you know how it goes. Your help was much appreciated!

Three Michelin Starred Lunch? Eleven Madison Park?

Dear Manhattan Chowhounders,

I wonder if you could offer me a little advice?

I travel to New York on a yearly basis, and always enjoy a lunch at Jean Georges. The food and service have been flawless on every occasion. I was also happy that $38 for two plates was well within my budget.

I am planning a return trip to New York on March 9th. I've read some wonderful things on Chowhound about Eleven Madison Park. I was considering reserving a table for lunch, but I am certain that the tasting menu for $125 is (unfortunately) beyond my budget.

I was curious as to whether anyone has sampled the $74 four course menu recently, and whether this particular dining experience was still recommended.

I was also curious as to whether Chowhounders could suggest an alternate fine dining lunch in Manhattan with a maximum spend of around $75 per head without drinks.

Thank you in advance, and as a first time poster I hope not to have breached any etiquette rules set by the board.

Parisian Markets in early April

Dear Parisian Chowhounders,

I wonder if you could offer me a little advice.

I plan to stay in an apartment in Paris in early April. It is in the 11th, near the Viaduc des Arts.

I want to make the most of having access to a kitchen, and therefore take advantage of Parisian Markets and shops. It will be my first time food shopping in Paris.

I would like to know which (seasonal) produce you would select in April, which markets you would visit, and which dishes you would cook using that produce?

I am happy to explore throughout the city (within the underground network), and am prepared to spend what ever amount necessary to sample fine seasonal produce.

However, if you have any specific recomendations which are located near to where I am staying, that would be an added bonus.

Thank you in advance, and as a first time poster I hope not to have breached any etiquette rules set by the board.
