D.C. With Kids - Need Restaurant Recommodations - HELP!

We will be traveling here in July staying at the Embassy Suites Chevy Chase Pavillion. We'll have easy Metro access but no car. The kids are 8 and 12 and like typical kid food (chicken fingers, hot dogs, hamburgers or a good salad (go figure)). We grown-ups like all types of food but nothing to exotic or cutting edge. We would love some recommendations around the Embassy Suites that we can walk to but likewise would like some other suggestions that would require a metro ride but nothing to far from the metro - kids remember. Thanks!

From LAX to Santa Monica - Where's the best place to eat?

Thanks for the info about the drive - street names and all - (and the restaurant info)
Much Appreciated.

LA FOR 2 NIGHTS - WHERE TO EAT?

We'll be staying in West Hollywood and in town for two nights. I'm looking for some interesting, uniquely LA dining spots. Good food is a must (no seafood please). We'll be staying on Cynthia Street and if there was something good within walking distance that would be great (unless you say that you wouldn't dare walk in that area). We will have a car so if there's some place worth the drive - we can handle that.

Out door dining would be great - we'll be coming in the spring - but ultimately just some great atmosphere. A hole-in-wall kind of place is good too ... I always like finding awsome food where you least expect it. Just throw all your recommendations my way - all are welcome and appreciated!

From LAX to Santa Monica - Where's the best place to eat?

We'll be traveling in August landing at LAX around lunch time. I want us to drive up the coast towards Santa Monica and take in the sights. I know we'll be hungry after our flight and thought we could grab a bite of lunch along the way. We like all types of food but my better half doesn't care for seafood so we can leave those suggestions off.

We're open to something different like a food truck that I've been reading about or really anything. The two main things for us it that it be casual and that it be good. Price range it's that important - that doesn't mean I'm looking to spend $45 for a hamburger and fries - but if it comes highly recommended we would consider it.

Thanks for your help.
