Three dinners in New Orleans

my vote would be lilette, coquette, or patois. They are all intimate with great food.

Thoughts on Itinerary?

you could do lunch at cochon and lunch at lilette. That's what I did and it was great.

I really liked the charbroiled oysters at cochon

Thoughts on Itinerary?

I would keep August, swap Clancy's for patois. keep brightsens and add Lillette. Keep Cochon too.

At August get the gnocchi, at brightens get the shrimp app with guacamole, at lillette get the Alaskan crab claws with passion fruit butter, and if you have time stop at petite grocery and have crawfish beignets.

Also grab a burger at camellia grill.

Recap of restos

Hi everyone, I just got back from my trip so here is a recap of all the restaurants ate at

I went to Lilette. It was my favorite meal of the trip. I ordered Alaskan King crab with passionfruit butter. I also ordered corn Ross with crab and avocado which was delicious.

We went to August which I loved we have the gnocchi and crab appetizer. This was delicious and lite. You also had one of the fish dishes which was amazing and the service was incredible.

We also went to patois. Everything up at patois was amazing. I had the shrimp appetizer and it was delicious and I had the lamb ribs which were great as well. Perhaps my only regret is that I didn't order the salad with oysters since the shrimp dish was somewhat rich. One of the owners Leon even called us a cab and gave us free beers while we were waiting. He couldn't have been nicer.

Petite grocery was delicious as well with unique flavors. The crab aBeignets are to die forand the charred broccoliwas incredible. My appetizer Pasta with crawfish was delicious.

Dicken Jenny's was was great. My salad with fried oysters was the perfect dish. The crawfish cheese cake was yummy. Service was amazing too. Drinks were great.

Cochon was great too. I have the charbroiled oysters with chili butter and it was delicious. The service at the bar where I was eating was not so great. That was a bit of a disappointment.

Overall amazing trip with great food!!

Another question re: places to eat in Nola . . .

I went to boucherie for lunch and was not that impressed. I did really like the atmosphere and drinks though. I would probably try patois or brightsens.

patois was amazing. I had the gnocchi which was great and the rabbit was yummy. The snickers desert was great too.

August brunch-great!! We had banana bread and the crab gnocchi which was fantastic.

Coquette- my appetizer was ok. The atmosphere there was just ok. My fried chicken with pasta was incredible. I would go back there for the chicken dish, but overall I liked Patois much better.

Peche-the tuna dip reminded me of white fish salad and I didn't like the consistency. The smoked trout with cauliflower was amazing as was the tuna crudo. I also loved our desserts.

Boucherie-My bloodymary was amazing and so were the boudin balls. We sat outside and our waiter was very nice. I would go there again.

Central grocery- I bought a sandwich for the plane and really enjoyed it. I like the bread too.

Overall it was an amazing trip!! Thank you all for the many suggestions. Next time I will try lillete

my list of restaurants for three days

I start with lunch at boucherie then have dinner at Patois. Brunch at August and dinner at Coquette. Then Monday dinner at Peche. I still need two lunch places for Monday and Tuesday. Maybe Dick and Jennys. Any thoughts.

Does this sound like a good line up??

November 30th bday dinner and one dinner alone on the 29

so I will go to Patois. Glad to hear it is good for one person. What about Frenchman street for my actual birthday dinner? Are there any good places?

Also where should we eat on Monday? Peche? Lilette? Herbsaint?

November 30th bday dinner and one dinner alone on the 29

I will be in new Orleans for 3 nights. One the 29th I was planning to go to Patois on Saturday, Coquette on Sunday (bday night) and Dick and Jennys for bday brunch sunday. Monday night I was thinking we would go to Peche.

I will be by myself the first night so is Patois a good choice and is Coquette a good choice for my birthday?

I'm more concerned with quality of food. On my birthday night though I want to be someplace festive.

Thanks in advance!!

Brunch UES or Midtown East plus Itinerary help

A restaurant that I went to recently and loved was Perilla. It was just great in every way. That might be a good choice, but it's downtown.

Brunch UES or Midtown East plus Itinerary help

skip buddakan!! it's old and dated. I think a nice place to go to brunch would be abc kitchen and you can make a reservation. What kind of food does your mom like? Midtown doesn't have great choices for food. What about Monkey bar for dinner in midtown?? They probably have a brunch too.

Help construct epic progressive dinner in New Orleans area - only the best

I agree with this except I would skip the pork tederloin and go to dick and jennys and get the savory cheese cake and then go to camelia grill to get the pecan pie thrown on the grill with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
