Help with Long Island Rehearsal Dinner

I am basically just wondering about how good the food is at each place. Any comments on ambiance would be helpful too.

Need a resto near Farmingdale and we will have around 50 guests. The ones I listed in the original post were recommended to us by our wedding venue, so was mostly curious how the food is at each place.

Thanks. Yes, I will certainly do call and check reviews.

Was just hoping some chowhounders had been to some of these places and could comment.

I appreciate the link, but I was hoping more for some specific commentary on the places in my post that were recommended. I haven't been to any of them, so I have no clue how they stack up.

Help with Long Island Rehearsal Dinner

Hi All,
I am working on a rehearsal dinner for June of this year and was hoping to get some comments/suggestions. We need a place that can host about 50 people and is either in or near Farmingdale. Our first choice was Verona, but unfortunately it was booked already.

Here are a few other suggestions we have received from our venue, and I was hoping some of you could give me some feedback on the places below:

Bella Napoli
Bellisimo
Four Food Studio
Blackstone Steakhouse

Also, if you have any better suggestions, I would love to hear them. Thanks in advance!

Suggestions for a dinner party for 20+ people

Thanks Gizmo. Looking into Bourbon House, Muriel's and also going to check into Luke (which I know is a step up, but a friend suggested it would probably be casual enough and still work for us if we split into 2 or 3 groups).

Suggestions for a dinner party for 20+ people

In this case, its not and Gizmo is right. We're a late 20s/early 30s group that wants to have a good meal without the men needing to wear blazers or upsetting other diners if we're talking loudly across the table. Certainly not a rowdy frat party, and I wouldn't bother coming to CH if that were the case.

Suggestions for a dinner party for 20+ people

Hey All,
I'm looking for a place in the French Quarter that can accommodate a dinner for a little over 20 people on a Sunday night. It doesn't necessarily need to be one giant table as the group could split into two if we could get two tables of 10 next to each other or something along those lines. Doesn't necessarily have to be cheap, but this group will be a little loud and dressed somewhat casual, so can't be too fancy or stuffy of an environment. Ideally looking for the best food we can find that fits in that criteria.

Thanks in advance for suggestions!

Suggestions for 30th Birthday Dinner for Two

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I think I have narrowed it down to:

Tocqueville
MAS Farmhouse
Jung Sik

All sound great in their own way, so I'm going to think about it for a bit and then choose.

I guess when I glanced at the menu for Marea it seemed more seafood oriented than normal Italian. I will have to look again.

Thanks everyone for the responses so far!

Seems like most of these place still have availability. I think I am going to pass on Italian though so Scarpetta and Lincoln are out.

I am going to look more into Tocqueville and a couple of Jean George's spots. Marea is another that caught my eye, but need to see if that will work with my budget.

Suggestions for 30th Birthday Dinner for Two

I am trying to pick a place for a 30th birthday dinner next week for my fiance and I. I have already read numerous other threads with suggestions on this topic, but I guess I am just looking for some fresh suggestions.

I was originally looking at some of the highly regarded places with great tasting menus like a WD-50 or EMP for instance, but it seems those are out of our price range. Looking to spend approx. $350 or so (would prefer to spend a little less, but could even go a little more if really worth it). That is including drinks (bottle of wine), tax, tip, etc..

We haven't lived in NYC that long, but some restaurants we have enjoyed recently include a couple of David Burke's, Momfuku Saam Bar, Red Cat, Flex Mussels.

A couple places under consideration include Modern Bar Room, Tocqueville and Oceana. More suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
