Addis or Asmara?

Thank you for all your comments (and entertainment!). Have made reservation at Addis in Cambridge because these are the nerdy hard-working kind of Harvard students who will want to expedite the party.

Addis or Asmara?

Daughter is turning 21 and has a chosen to take ten for her friends for Ethiopian. Needs to be in easy reach of Harvard Square. Trying to choose between Asmara and Addis and would be grateful for opinions and advice!

NY foodie coming to New Orleans looking for CANT miss places- Help me with my itinerary please

Thanks for a great thread! I've spent a fair amount of time in NOLA post-Katrina on rebuild trips, but am heading down there in ten days just for fun. Have tried Cochon, Jiacomo's, Stella, and Dick and Jenny's - all very good, but hate to return to places because there are so many more to try. No one has mentioned Feelings in Fauborg-Marigny - it was recommended as "romantic" but no one said much about the food. Is it any good?

December 31 Paris lunch?

I have been lurking here for weeks, gathering info for our Christmas week trip. We have ballet tickets for December 31, and have decided to take the advice of most and do a post-theatre feast in our Marais apartment. So now I'm thinking about a lovely big, leisurely lunch that day. Will that be possible? Or will most good places be closed as they prepare for the orgy later that night? We like classic, well-prepared French food - aren't particularly interested in cutting edge, "revelatory" cuisine. Thank you!

Paris - NYE - 16 year old - Marais

Well, yes - that's the point isn't it? It's going to be our last night in Paris - I can't believe that one can't find a decent New Year's Eve dinner in Paris - surely someone has had a good experience? Or a restaurant to recommend I try?

Paris - NYE - 16 year old - Marais

Looking for a NYE restaurant in Paris, Marais or Bastille, for me and my 16 year old daughter. We will want a later seating because we're starting the evening at the ballet. Would rather NOT do Bofinger - wanted something a little smaller and quieter - but don't know how to start researching restaurants when they don't have web sites! In a pinch I can make a phone call in French but it won't be pretty!

Thanks
