What's as easy as pulled pork but *not* pulled pork?

Happy Birthday to your daughter (in advance)! I think I would consider setting up a taco bar. Everyone makes their own to their liking and ingredients are pretty cheap. Maybe make some ground beef type filling, also some chicken filling, and then just a big foil pan of home made pinto beans (either whole or refried) and a big pan of Mexican style rice (super easy and cheap to make), Relishes: shredded lettuce, shredded cheddar or jack cheese, and salsa. A simple salad. For dessert... Cake and ice cream of course!

Shout out to all BBQ geniuses -- BBQ Boneless Rib Steak - I need help for Fathers Day

Hey all you wonderful cooks! I've gotten some great advice and recipes here so here I go again.

I bought some lovely boneless rib steaks from Costco for Fathers Day, nice marbling but boneless USDA choice. Personally, I think the bone is important but they just didn't have it. So boneless it is!

My terrific husband and father LOVES grilled rib steak so... tell me... what's your favorite recipe or method .. a marinade/dry rub... how do you get the most flavor and tenderness from a boneless rib eye on your charcoal grill. I do not have a gas grill, I have a big Weber charcoal grill.

How about it? Care to share?

Ideas anyone? I would sure appreciate them!!

What to do with boneless pork country style ribs - other than BBQ

Saaayy that does sound good! I am going to use these for tacos next time. Great idea! I think I might throw a dribble of beer in the marinade.

Spicy Oven-Roasted Chickpeas

I followed the directions exactly. I dried them very well on paper towels. I shook the pan a couple of times while they were baking. They were perfectly crunchy and roasted, not soggy at all. I used them as topping for a green salad like bacon bits. Delicious!!

Fresh ham, bone in... best way to cook it?

I have a fresh ham, bone in, a small one. Not sure whether it was smoked or not. What would you cook with such an item? I am thinking ham and beans? Any advice or recipes would be very much appreciated.

What to do with boneless pork country style ribs - other than BBQ

Hi everyone! It's raining outside and I have some boneless pork ribs and I don't want to do the same old oven barbecued rib thing. Anyone have an innovative and different way to use them? I was thinking cube them and make a stew or soup of some kind? Or maybe shredded pork for tacos? Ideas needed!

Easy Beef Stew

I love making beef stew on a stormy day! This is my new go-to beef stew recipe - with a couple of modifications. I used a tight fitting cover on the pot all the way through. Did not simmer uncovered. Used a fruity drinkable cabernet for the wine. Used beef stock not broth, reduced it to 3 cups and added a can of beef consommé. Threw in a few extra herbs from the garden and 1/4 teaspoon cloves with the spices. Subbed large dice portobellos for the peas. Scrumptious ladled over home-made biscuits.

Dry chicken in the slow cooker?

Well I wish I could help, but I haven't had much success with chicken in the crockpot either. It always seems to come out overcooked. I quit cooking it in the crockpot. If I want to use my crockpot, it's beef, beans or soup.

Would you care to share your favorite cornbread recipe?

Hi everyone, I lost my favorite cornbread recipe. Do you have a good recipe you'd like to share? I prefer a cake-like texture, not the dense kind.
