Any review on Provence en Boite?
Have never been for dinner but have generally had nice brunches there. Excellent croissants and good coffee!
Has anyone tried the revamped Tabla?
Curious what you prefer about the upstairs? I'm taking my significant other there for his birthday this weekend, and am trying to figure out upstairs versus down. I want it to be relaxing and festive, pretty but not stuffy, and of course not too noisy.
Menu/cocktail/wine recommendations are welcome, too!
Brunch with Parents in Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill
I highly recommend Quercy, on Court Street. Had a lovely brunch there this past Sunday. Food and service were excellent, coffee was delicious, you get a mimosa/bloody mary/or plain old glass of wine (champagne incl.) with your brunch for approx. $15.95. And they can definitely accommodate a group of your size.
Applewood recs?
I've never had anything bad there, but the goat I had on my first visit (approx. 2 years ago) was outstanding and I still think about it as one of my most memorable dinners anywhere.
Midtown/Hell's Kitchen outdoors?
Any suggestions for a place in Midtown West or Hell's Kitchen with a nice outdoor space or sidewalk seating, or at the very least nice big doors that open up to the street, to enjoy this glorious weather while drinking/dining in the concrete jungle? Thx.
Salad delivery in Carroll Gardens
This is the one area where the Pita Grill sometimes comes in handy, but if anyone else has better salad recs, do tell. I love Paninoteca but sometimes you want a salad with grilled chicken, etc.
breakfast on christmas - carroll gardens, cobble hill, bklyn heights?
Does anyone know of any place in the CG/CH/BH vicinity that will be open for breakfast on Christmas morning? Diners, anything will do. Many thanks!
Where to take 10-12 people for a fun dinner in downtown Manhattan
Chinatown brasserie might fit the bill; if you're not big drinkers you should be ok with your budget.
New Pizza, Carroll Gardens
does anyone know if they are now doing take out or delivery? thanks.
dinner near Trocadero?
seeing a show there Friday night and looking for recommendations for dinner before. anything within a ten or so block radius? many thanks.
New to Philly (downtown & society hill)
Wow, thanks so much for the recommendations! I am excited. A trusted friend told me last night she thinks the food in Philly is better than NY.
New to Philly (downtown & society hill)
Hello Philadelphians. I just moved here for the next 3 months for work and am looking for food recommendations. I'm volunteering on a campaign so don't have a lot of $ to burn, but interested in the full range of options (from cheesesteak to Le Bec Fin). I am staying in Society Hill and working near 15th and Chestnut, so options in those two areas are particularly welcome. Favorite cuisines include Japanese and Thai. I am also looking for the best place to get a make-your-own salad near the office. Many thanks!!
has the frozen yogurt craze hit?
looks delicious and i can't wait to try, thanks! (though there's always room for both gelato and tangy fro yo, in my opinion.)
has the frozen yogurt craze hit?
I am in Philly for 2 mos and craving the tangy fro-yo (pinkberry, red mango and various knock-offs) that has taken NY and LA by storm. anything like that to be found in or near center city?
Frozen Yogurt in Philly
Hi -- a year later I'm curious if the tangy fro-yo craze that has taken NY by storm has hit Philly? I am here for 2 months and having serious cravings!
Dining on the Cape
ps I also love Mac's Shack on Commercial Street in Wellfleet center. They do have a liquor license and some of the best seafood around.
Dining on the Cape
I highly recommend stopping at PJs on Route 6 at Cahoon Hollow Road (near the turn off for Wellfleet Center). The food is much better than Arnold's though it is BYO. There is a good liquor store just up 6 if you want to bring wine or beer. Try the lobster rolls, homemade onion rings, clam chowder, any of the fried fish/seafood, and ice cream. You won't be sorry.
Quick lunch in Providence near Amtrak?
I am being picked up at the train in Providence this week and would love to have a quick lunch in one of my favorite cities before heading out to the Cape. One thought was Geoff's on Benefit; any other suggestions?
Outdoor spot on UWS between Columbus Circle and 86th St.
Any recommendations for casual spots fitting this description (other than Boat Basin, of course)? Open to any cuisine, especially Japanese or Thai. Many thanks.
Throwing my opinion in the FroYo wars
agreed. i am generally a fan of all the froyo, but bloomies rocks.
Engagement Dinner this Thursday
I went to Otto last night with a group of 10 -- they seated us at a big round table in the back and it was lovely. Very festive and as long as everyone will eat pizza or pasta, you'll all be happy. We made the reservation that day, so you should be able to get in for Thursday. Mazel tov!
middle eastern delivery to 83rd & CPW
Any recommendations for good delivery to 83rd and CPW? Middle-eastern food a plus, but any recommendations welcome. Already know about Land Thai. Thanks.
quiet/relaxing/moderate sunday dinner in PS/carroll gardns/downtn bklyn/dumbo
Paninoteca...garden...good food and cocktails, nice wine, friendly service.
Going for Pizza tonight- Lucali or Grimaldis and why??
along the same lines, although i do agree lucali is delicious and definitely better than grimaldi, sam's on court is way up there on the list of excellent pizza.
Best Birthday Cake?
don't know about magnolia cakes, but my favorite nyc birthday cake is amy's bread yellow cake with pink frosting. definitely travels well and is delicious.
