Anyone try Per Lei on 71st and 2nd?
Yea, I'm on the UES. I'm always looking for hidden gems up here!
What's your top 3 upper east side restaurants with moderate prices?
Pio Pio and Beyoglu are FAB. You can't beat the food/service/price combo!!!!
Five questions for NY Hounds and Overall Itinerary Critique?
Annie's gets WAY too crowded (they don't take reservations) if you go later than 10am on a weekend, FYI. Sometimes the line can take 1.5 hours.
RESTAURANT ADVICE FOR A FIRST NY TIMER.
FABULOUS falafel at Ali Baba on McDougal between West 3rd and Bleeker. Much better than the very over-rated Mamouns.
Upscale Vietnamese?
I agree w/ you folks - the ga sate, bo luc lac, and summer rolls are great. Quite dee-lish and quite inexpensive.
Pre theater dinner without breaking the bank?
I just spoke w/ my Aunt and she also agrees that Esca is not anything fabulous. (And she said that waiters are quite rude, too!)
Pre theater dinner without breaking the bank?
Well - the other two couples we are going with are leaning toward Esca...grrrr... You guys are certainly pulling me toward Marseille, though! Hmmm...maybe I can change their minds! ;)
Pre theater dinner without breaking the bank?
Why don't you like Esca for pre-theater? Is it too rushed or you don't fancy the food?
Pre theater dinner without breaking the bank?
I looked at the menu for Esca - and we loooooove seafood! Maybe we should splurge for it! It's either going to be there or Marseille. Any specific dishes you would recommend at either place?

Anywhere 75th-94th street - about $100 or less for dinner (entree and appitizer or dessert) and wine per couple.
Pre theater dinner without breaking the bank?
My pet peeve is the noise level at a restaurant - too quiet and you feel like everyone can hear you, too loud and you're shouting the whole meal and developing quite a headache! Perhaps Becco would be too loud?
I'm going to check opentable for a reservation at Marseille. What time should I shoot for if we have an 8pm curtain for Avenue Q? Is it a slow meal or a quick in-and-out type of place?
What's your top 3 upper east side restaurants with moderate prices?
I've been to Fig & Olive - I thought it was pretty good. The unique bruschetta assortments were fab. Perhaps we will try Centolire and Giovanni Venti Cinque for a special night out ;)

Any ideas? I live in the area and I'm new to this website - any suggestions/cuisines are welcome!
Pre theater dinner without breaking the bank?
Does anyone have suggestions for a pre-theater restaurant walking distance from Avenue Q's theater? We are going w/ two other couples and looking to spend no more than $125-150/couple for dinner and wine. Any cuisines except Chinese & Indian, please....
:) Thanks!
