The BEST wings I ever had when I lived in Miami were hands down, the Special Grilled Wings at the Sports Grill on Sunset Drive! Though we sometimes would get wings at other restaurants when out and about, for many many years this is the place we always came back to for the best wings.

Sadly I moved out of that area and haven't been back down there for wings in over 10 years, but I still rave about their wings and to this day compare all others to them. They ARE THAT GOOD!!!

Asked them one time about opening a place in Broward and one of the guys said they had thought about it. Anyone know if it ever happened???

Florida Smoked Fish

Know this was a former topic on the boards, so a head's up for those interested in checking it out -

Found out recently that Florida Smoked Fish on State Road 84 in Fort Lauderdale has reopened, apparently with a new owner. I asked my brother to stop by today to pick up some smoked kingfish since he was going to be in the area, but haven't had a chance to taste it as of yet.

Also, he mentioned stopping at a place on US 1 in Fort Pierce Saturday where he purchased some really good smoked fish. If anyone is familiar with this, would appreciate a name, phone number or address so I can contact them.

Considering a rice cooker

Not only do I use mine for cooking rice, but also it is great for steaming veggies. I have to classify my rice cooker as one of the best appliances I own!

Savannah/Tybee Island Dining

Thanks for your reply, I was beginning to think this was a comment board and not one to get answers to questions! I have seen Stingray when surfing, but wasn't sure about freshness/quality. Being a South Florida native I live on fresh seafood, but my sister from middle Tennessee is in dire want and need of some good fresh fish.

Another source mentioned the Seafood Grille in Savannah (actually called Pearl's). Looks good, have you ever eaten there?

Cracker Barrel

Can't vouch for the lunch or dinner menu items because when I visit Cracker Barrel it's always breakfast for me, no matter what time of the day.

I think I first ate at a CB in the early 70's, and we always make it a point to stop and eat at least once at them when on a roadtrip. A family friend worked at the original location in Lebanon, TN and rumor has it that she created the recipe for the Hash Brown Casserole. These days I'm not interested in the gift shop as I was when a kid, but I NEVER leave the restaurant without purchasing a couple of rolls of their awesome sausage. Oh, and some of the flavored candy sticks....

Savannah/Tybee Island Dining

We will be visiting Savannah and Tybee Island in about two weeks and are looking for tips on restaurants we 'must not miss'. Note that we are not interested in upscale $$$ restaurants or tourist traps (unless the food warrants it), but good food prepared right.

Some of what we are interested in would be great southern meals, but we are also ISO 'THE RESTAURANT' we should visit for fresh local seafood. Also would like to know a favorite southern breakfast place in Savannah.
