South Bay Area Eats - Need recommendations Thank you ! I have long since returned ...But I did tend to eat a lot at Maruichi ,Miltpitas . It isnt generally on many peoples list but the absence of lines and a quiet place to eat with nice depth to broth had me visit them a number of times I did goto Grand Sichuan but finding no one and the owners sitting down to their meal I stumbled on Sushi Kai which had re-opened under different owners . Sushi Kai is probably my best find - no rolls under weird names their chirashi was a stand out with excellent saba that I returned back .. |

South Bay Area Eats - Need recommendations Milpitas is not exactly a Sushi hot bed ..But went to a newly opened place called Sushi Kai yesterday . Comparatively pricy but food is well made with less of gimmicky rolls . Had the chirashi -saba was a standout to me . Worthwhile visit if you are in the area |

South Bay Area Eats - Need recommendations Thanks a lot for multiple recommendations , will be scheduling multiple visits to SF ...... Visited Smoking Pig BBQ today .... The hot links are hot .... The dishes I enjoyed best surprisingly turned out to be their sides ...Cornbread baked in muffin pan was moist and memorable and so was their mac n cheese with smoked meat in it ----- |

South Bay Area Eats - Need recommendations Yesterday was in Palo Alto ... Had dinner at the french bistro shokolat . Shortribs where a let down but all the vegetarian dishes ordered hit home like a pumpkin risotto and goat cheese ravioli . Probably their pasta is sublime ? In desserts , the creme fraiche sorbet was nice (Better than the lemon pie it was served with ) Went to fraiche as well . Understandably the chocolate yoghurt was wonderful . ----- Shokolaat |

South Bay Area Eats - Need recommendations Hi Fellow Gourmands I am on business visit from India in San Jose for some months .After trawling the chowhound and elsewhere I have drawn up a list of restaurants/places to visit I am filling up a list here based on what I have heard on the board so far , I shall keep updating the list . Will be staying off as much as Indian as possible .Cursory searches in Chinese on the boards havent turned anything yet for me (I must be definitely missing the obvious), and Japanese there is too much to filter down yet .... My goal is to eat my way through as much American food is possible as well ...... Ethnic 1.Sri Lankan -Kadupul Fastfood American Bistro - Nordstorm Cafe Am I missing more styles? regds |
